Located on the edge of Lake Como, this historic home welcomes you to an atmospheric waterfront escape. Combining tradition and contemporary comfort, the rooms are well suited to groups in search of ease and relaxation. Highlights include the sweet little balcony and the views, plus your host can arrange welcome packs and housekeeping. It’s worth noting the stairs do not have a handrail so this may not be the best option for families with young children, but you will find this is a great base for a lakeside adventure. From here, it’s a short stroll to cafes, bars and restaurants, while the ferry is just 400 metres away. 

Tales by the Lake

Perched on a promontory that juts out into Lake Como, this villa provides guests with plenty of opportunity to look out over stunning lakeside vistas, backgrounded by the mighty Alps. Below, the quaint village of Bellagio invitingly reveals its cobbled streets and elegant lakeside villas, completing the panoramic views.

The villa doesn’t just offer views, though. Its heated swimming pool allows you to see snowy mountain caps in perfect comfort, and inside you’ll be able to build up a sweat in your own private gym and Turkish sauna. 
In the evenings, once you’ve caught the sunset over Lake Como, you might want to make your way down into your wine cellar and enjoy the finest local wines, or head into Bellagio and sample its fantastic foods.

Although the villa offers tranquillity, you’re not far from the city either. Its location allows for short drives to cities like Milan, Bergamo, and Como, and you can also enjoy making the short trip across the border into Switzerland to visit Lugano.

The villa’s excellent location also invites you to enjoy hikes and boat trips around the lake, along with other outdoor activities such as tennis and golf.

Tri Lake Serenity

Set within the grounds of the owner’s home, this charming villa brings you the best of Italy. Comfortable for a family or group of friends, you’ll find everything needed for a relaxing stay here, but the icing on the cake for us is the outdoor space. Sun-kissed terraces, alfresco dining opportunities and views across Lake Como – what’s not to love? If you can tear yourself away, live like a local in ​​Tremezzo where pizzerias and authentic Italian food awaits. And of course, a trip out on Lake Como itself is a must – it’s the perfect place to soak up the scenery. 

A Breath of Nature

Take in the beautiful views of Lake Como from this home's terraces – perfect for sunset suppers. There are views from this abode's living space, too, awaiting you. If you need to catch up on work, both bedrooms have dressing tables that can double up as a laptop space. But, if you're a group of six, two guests will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living room. If that doesn't bother you, then you'll love the location. This home has private access to the Green Way footpath, which leads to Varenna (twenty minutes on foot) and the beach, a three-minute stroll away.

A Wonderful Time

Situated in a prime location overlooking Lake Como with a backdrop of mountains – the setting couldn’t be more dramatic. There’s an infinity swimming pool and terrace with wonderful views, while inside, the vistas continue to wow. Inside, there’s an open-plan living room and a cosy bar area – perfect for entertaining. And to make sure you have time to relax, a free breakfast is served daily by the private chef. For lunch, you can do some cooking in the stylish kitchen or visit one of the local restaurants a short stroll away.

The Lake Embrace

What a location this home has in the heart of Varenna's historic centre. Lake Como is just 10 metres away, while restaurants, ice cream parlours and shops are also very close by. Down one of Varenna's typical alleys, you'll find this charming house in a private courtyard full of roses and palm trees. A raised terrace with alfresco dining is perfect for enjoying the sunset. There's also a stunning view of the famous 'Walk of Lovers' from this home. Inside, there's an upside-down layout, with the bedrooms and a bathroom on the lower ground floor.

The Varenna View

Located on the top floor of an elegant house in Varenna, this home boasts not one but two terraces. One faces the lake, and the other has views over the mountains. You can enjoy some lovely vistas from inside too. The open-plan living space is divided from the kitchen by a bookcase, which is handy as the living area doubles up as the sleeping quarters for guest three (on a single sofa bed). Location-wise, it’s fantastic as this home is in the centre of Varenna, around 200 metres from Piazza San Giorgio and 250 metres from Varenna train station. It’s also 10 metres from Lake Como and the ferry that connects Varenna to Bellagio, Menaggio and Tremezzo.

Mountain Slice

This 19th-century home is perfect for a group of friends or a large family looking to create Lake Como memories. Spreading out is easy with a collection of comfortable bedrooms (most of which have private bathrooms), though we reckon a majority of your time will be spent in the garden. It offers a terrace, a swimming pool, and over 2,500 square meters of sunny grounds ideal for alfresco relaxation. Keen to explore? Varenna is a 9-kilometre drive, Lecco is reachable in thirty minutes, and the town centre and lake are a short stroll away.

Eden's Garden

If you want the best of Lake Como at your feet, this Bellano historic centre gem wins hands down. The apartment is mere steps from the lakeside squares for people watching and sundowners, and when it's time to head upstream to Menaggio, Bellagio, and beyond, the ferry port is just 200 metres from your door. Back home, the handsome palazzo exteriors make all the right first impressions. It's worth noting that if six of you share, the last two guests will sleep on a sofa bed in the living area. There's also no outdoor space to speak of here. But the views of Bellano's rooftops and church tower from the bedroom are a lovely touch.

Lake Como Serenity

Petite and pretty, you'll find this home right on the edge of Lake Como, near the centre of Tremezzo. It's ideal for couples or very small families who are looking for some peace and quiet to enjoy this idyllic corner of Italy. 

The kitchen is ready for you to whip up some delicious meals, or simply arrange some antipasti, depending on what you feel like. Mix an Aperol Spritz and head out to the patio to enjoy your apperitif in the fresh air with a view of the lake – your host will even provide comfortable deckchairs and tables. If you need to catch up on emails then there's a dedicated workspace, and at the end of the day you'll love curling up in the perfect pink bedroom. 

You can walk to the centre of Tremezzo and the famous Villa Carlotta in only eight minutes from here, and you're also close to Scalo di Villa Carlotta ferry landing, which can take you around the lake to several points of interest. Plus, the city centre of Como is around a forty-minute drive away – visit the cathedral and wander along the promenade before you hop on the funicular railway for an excellent view.

Rose Petal

As beautiful views go, this is one of the best we’ve seen. The spell-binding Lake Como is the backdrop of this stone brick villa, which commands attention from both the swimming pool and jacuzzi. Not only is the scenery beautiful, but it’s completely serene – here, you can totally unwind, melting away any thoughts of daily life under the Italian sun. 

Cloaked in bright whites, oranges, terracotta, and wooden touches, the interior is a joy. Perfectly complementing the exterior, it’s clear that a lot of care went into styling this home. Perhaps most importantly, every room takes full advantage of the natural surroundings – whether you’re preparing food in the kitchen, relaxing in the bathtub, or savouring your morning coffee from bed, the views will follow. 

The interior might be gorgeous, but the best place to soak up the surroundings is in the garden. The little ones will love running around the soft grass, playing hide and seek behind the trees, while the grown-ups can spend blissful hours dipping in and out of the pool. 

When sunset rolls around, the place to be is in your jacuzzi, looking out at the vista. There are few places more atmospheric than Lake Como at dusk. Let a private chef wow you with local dishes while you relax around the outdoor dining table, watching the lights shimmer on the lake as night settles. Should you want a change of scenery, you can walk into the centre of Bellagio for a selection of traditional trattorias and bars. 

Oh, Wonder

Just steps from the gorgeous Lake Como, this charming apartment is spread over three levels with a lot of stairs. We think the private balcony is a highlight here – there's enough space to sit out and gaze across the lake with an evening drink or a light breakfast. Being in the centre of Varenna, some street noise can be expected, but this can be remedied with earplugs. Public transport is easily accessible, whether you're catching a train to Milan at the Varenna-Esino railway station or heading to the ferry depot and discovering the beauty of Lake Como.
