This villa overlooks the town of Bellagio and enjoys stunning mountain views. The kitchen and certain bathrooms might be a little dated, but the range of amenities makes this home great for families or couples. The wine cellar is well-stocked and the home gym is well-equipped, while the sauna and private pool offer fun and relaxation for all ages. Topping it all off is the private pool with sweeping views of Lake Como. We love this location not only for its beauty but for its practicality – you'll want a car for ease of getting around, but it's only a two-minute drive to the nearest restaurants and shops.

Chasing Dreams

This 19th-century home is perfect for a group of friends or a large family looking to create Lake Como memories. Spreading out is easy with a collection of comfortable bedrooms (most of which have private bathrooms), though we reckon a majority of your time will be spent in the garden. It offers a terrace, a swimming pool, and over 2,500 square meters of sunny grounds ideal for alfresco relaxation. Keen to explore? Varenna is a 9-kilometre drive, Lecco is reachable in thirty minutes, and the town centre and lake are a short stroll away.

Eden's Garden

Just steps from the gorgeous Lake Como, this charming apartment is spread over three levels with a lot of stairs. We think the private balcony is a highlight here – there's enough space to sit out and gaze across the lake with an evening drink or a light breakfast. Being in the centre of Varenna, some street noise can be expected, but this can be remedied with earplugs. Public transport is easily accessible, whether you're catching a train to Milan at the Varenna-Esino railway station or heading to the ferry depot and discovering the beauty of Lake Como.

The Stone & the Mountain

Nestled in the heart of Sala Comacina, this fuss-free apartment is an ideal base for a family or small group of friends on an Italian adventure. While the home offers everything you could need for a relaxing stay, the stand-out for us is the outdoor space. From the private balcony, you can drink in views of Lake Como – just the spot for a morning coffee or evening limoncello. And if that doesn’t tick all your holiday boxes, there’s a communal swimming pool to enjoy here too, perfect to beat the heat of the day. 

Como's Delight

If you’re looking for a home with a view, then how about this apartment, which has captivating Lake Como vistas from its small balcony? Inside, the open-plan living space sleeps two guests on a sofa bed at full capacity. We love the outlook from the dining table here, too – at this home, you can create wonderful memories. Set in the town of Menaggio with its lakeside promenade, you’ll have plenty to occupy your time or go for a scenic hike in the nearby mountains. With its fantastic location, this apartment is the perfect retreat.

Lakeside Chic

With views over Lake Como from the private garden of this ground-floor apartment, you’ll feel relaxation wash over you from the moment you arrive. Perfect for up to four guests on an Italian getaway, just bear in mind that two people will draw the short straw and sleep on the sofa bed here – although with the lake views, it doesn’t seem a hardship. And while there’s no air conditioning, there are fans to keep cool, or you can head to the communal pool for a refreshing dip. 

Light at Heart

This stunning lakeside apartment is an idyllic spot on the shores of Lake Como. It’s elegant and modern, with a fully equipped kitchen and a living room with large windows looking out to the lake. An internal courtyard leads to a private sauna and a wine cellar, and there’s even a shared infinity pool – what could be better than drinking in those majestic views while enjoying a dip? You’ll also have access to a dock for boat tours. 

Golden Reflections

Views of Lake Como don't come much better than this – and neither do penthouse locations. You're within walking distance of Fiumelatte for evening meals and the train station (just 300 metres away) for trips to nearby historic Varenna. Rather travel by boat? Hop on the ferry (a three-kilometre drive away) to glitzy Bellagio and beyond. Back home, the main bedroom suite, with its dressing area and Jacuzzi for two, more than delivers. However, it's worth noting that the headspace in the mezzanine second bedroom is low and better suited for children. But for those jaw-dropping views from the private terrace, we can forgive that.

Sunset On The Lake

No matter the hour of day or time of year, this 19th-century stone home overlooking Lake Como is a dream come true. Breakfast on the terrace in the crisp morning breeze, lunch by the sparkling pool, dinner under the pergola while the sun sets over the mountains – you'll be able to make the most of those sensational views all day long. And trust us, they are definitely impressive, but we love the interior here, too. The Larian architectural style is unique to this area – features like arched doorways, brick ceilings and terracotta flooring are warm, cosy and characterful. Multiple living areas filled with antiques give guests plenty of space to spread out, while the kitchen has all the crockery and cookware you'll need to rustle up an Italian feast (there's also a wood oven and a barbecue outside fit for alfresco dining). Whether you're working at the desk or playing a game of pool, this feels like a real family home. 

When you fancy exploring, nearby Santa Maria Rezzonico is one of the most idyllic areas of the lake, with a small cove where you can swim in the blue water. Ten minutes by car is Menaggio – head there for delicious eateries, local shops and the ferry terminal – while picturesque Belaggio is forty minutes away. Whatever you get up to, this is the perfect spot for discovering Lake Como's treasures.

Set within the grounds of the owner’s home, this charming villa brings you the best of Italy. Comfortable for a family or group of friends, you’ll find everything needed for a relaxing stay here, but the icing on the cake for us is the outdoor space. Sun-kissed terraces, alfresco dining opportunities and views across Lake Como – what’s not to love? If you can tear yourself away, live like a local in ​​Tremezzo where pizzerias and authentic Italian food awaits. And of course, a trip out on Lake Como itself is a must – it’s the perfect place to soak up the scenery. 

A Breath of Nature

Nestled in the heart of Varenna, this apartment oozes elegance with marble floors, crystal chandeliers, and views over San Giorgio Square. You’ll need to climb stairs to this first-floor home, and there’s no air conditioning here, but step out onto the private terrace and you’ll feel the warm Italian breeze. Location-wise, you’ll see why this apartment caught our eye. Within walking distance of Lake Como, the sandy shores of Molo di Sotto beach, and a plethora of shops and Italian eateries, there’s plenty to occupy your time here.
