Based at the foot of the Monte Pellegrino and boasting breathtaking views over the sparkling Mediterranean sea, this spectacular apartment showcases everything great about Sicily. The Addaura neighbourhood on your doorstep is one of the greenest spaces in the city, with plenty of heart-pumping hikes on offer nearby.

A stone's throw from the rocky shoreline, it's perfect for a refreshing dip. However, you'll want to head a couple of kilometres north to Mondello Beach for an inviting stretch of golden sand to lay your towel out. The beach is backed by plenty of lively bars and welcoming restaurants – perfect for long lunches out of the midday sun.

For a spot of culture, head into the historic centre of Palermo, twenty-five minutes away. Here, you'll witness a cultural melting pot that's been bubbling away for centuries, creating a city that's quite unlike any other. Sumptuous street food, countless beautiful churches and plenty of piazzas for people-watching – the city is a real feast for the senses.

Neptune's Nest

Part of a former tomato factory, this Palermo apartment is dripping with industrial character – think soaring timber ceilings, porthole bedroom windows, and a rooftop terrace where you can eat alfresco above the city's rooftops. The Kalsa neighbourhood puts you a short walk from the brilliant Ballarò market and within fifteen minutes of the Arab-Norman cathedral. And, rare for central Palermo, there's private parking on-site if you're arriving by car – though in this spot, getting around on foot is a breeze.

Pomodoro & Sky

A private walled garden with a shaded pergola terrace is a rare find in central Palermo – and this apartment delivers one, along with a separate balcony, so there's no shortage of space to eat, read, or simply slow down. Inside, the Sicilian character runs deep – tall French windows flood the living room with light, while the bedroom floors are laid with period mosaic tiles typical of Sicilian craftsmanship. Palermo Cathedral is a fifteen-minute walk, and the legendary Ballarò Market is even closer – one of the most atmospheric street food scenes in Italy.

Giardino di Zisa

Bold blue velvet seating, a skylight bedroom, and a private rooftop terrace – this Palermo apartment layers character at every turn. Spread across two floors in the heart of La Cala, the interiors have a warm, considered feel, with parquet underfoot and patterned tiles in the bathroom that feel distinctly Sicilian. Step outside and you're a short stroll from Palermo Cathedral's Arab-Norman facade and the sensory overload of Ballarò Market, one of the city's great street markets just a ten-minute walk away. Back on the rooftop, an alfresco dinner under a blue Sicilian sky is hard to beat.

Sicilian Afternoon

Stepping into this apartment is like stepping into Palermo's past – the original 1930s cementine tile floors give the home a quietly authentic character you won't find in a modern build. Ballarò Market, one of Sicily's most atmospheric street bazaars, is virtually on your doorstep, and Palermo Cathedral is a short stroll in the other direction. Back inside, air conditioning and underfloor heating mean you'll be comfortable whatever the season, and a balcony offers the perfect spot to ease into a Sicilian evening without going far at all.

Cementine & Centuries

Step back in time at this grand Sicilian palazzo. Filled with historic artefacts, antique furnishings and artworks, alongside high vaulted ceilings, glass chandeliers and a library of books, it feels more like a living museum than a rental home – it's no surprise it was featured by World of Interiors. Here, days are spent drifting from one elegant room to another, feasting in the decadent dining room or enjoying afternoon tea or cocktails on the leafy terrace. Step outside and you're moments from the lively marina, with cafes, bars and local trattorias right on your doorstep.

Jewel of Palermo

This contemporary villa is located in one of Palermo’s most beautiful and exclusive seaside areas, close to the Mondello seafront. It’s surrounded by greenery in a pretty spot, where you can enjoy a relaxing break. The garden is full of verdant trees and plants, with views that can be admired from several seating areas – there’s a table for alfresco dining, too. Inside, you’ll have plenty of room to spend time together without missing out on the vistas, thanks to floor-to-ceiling glass doors.

Green Sicily

Nestled in the centre of Palermo, a short walk from the Regional Archeological Museum Antonio Salinas and Teatro Massimo, you’d be forgiven for thinking this pad was heaven-sent. From here, you’re perfectly positioned to enjoy a glass or two of Italian wine on Piazza San Domenico, or why not share a bottle of something local in your open-plan living area? While you may have to contend with some street noise, this central and inviting spot is primed for sightseeing, with La Cala Port and authentic eateries all within easy reach.

For the Love of Palermo

Lofty ceilings and original tile floors give this Palermo apartment a character that modern renovations can never replicate – each room carries the quiet charm of old Sicily. Light pours in through tall balcony doors, and the dining area has an easy, convivial feel that makes you want to linger over a long lunch. Step outside and you're moments from Ballarò Market, Palermo Cathedral, and the Palazzo dei Normanni – one of Sicily's most remarkable UNESCO-listed landmarks. It's a rare combination: a home with real historical soul, right in the heart of the city.

Palermo Character

That rooftop terrace – with its mountain views stretching beyond Palermo's rooftops – is reason enough to book this apartment near La Cala. Below it, the interior holds its own – whitewashed beams arch over the mezzanine bedroom, where a carved Moorish headboard nods to the city's layered Arab-Norman heritage. Slate-blue tiles line the bathroom walls, giving the whole place a considered, unhurried feel. Step outside and Ballarò Market, the Cathedral, and the historic waterfront are all within a short walk – Palermo at its most vivid, right on your doorstep.

Cala Solstice

Nestled in the heart of Palermo, this apartment makes an ideal retreat for those wanting to drop off their bags and head out to explore. The vaulted ceilings and exposed brickwork pair perfectly with a whole host of modern amenities here, guaranteeing guests a comfortable stay. But the real cherry on the cake? The outdoor space. A rare find in the city, it’s the perfect place to unwind after a day of sightseeing – with the Jacuzzi taking centre stage, naturally.

Peace in Palermo

Located in Palermo’s bohemian Kalsa district, this palazzo has a storied history. Redesigned in 1787 by Marquis Beccadelli Bologna, it's welcomed members of the Neapolitan royal family and hosted Admiral Horatio Nelson during his visits to Palermo. So, you’re in good company when you stay here. The apartment retains plenty of period character, with original decorative details and classical artwork found throughout the refined rooms. But our favourite feature is the blue-and-white-tiled terrace – a spectacular space for dinner, drinks, or savouring the sunshine, with plenty of room to stretch out. And with the city right on the doorstep, you’ll soon be captivated by Sicily’s high-spirited capital.
