This stylish apartment is right around the corner from Termini, Rome's biggest train station, so there's no doubt that the transport links are excellent. But many of the must-see sights can also be reached on foot, including the magnificent Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore five minutes away and The Colosseum just a little further, about a twenty-minute stroll. After fueling up on pasta and gelato at Mercato Centrale Roma across the street, set off for the Trevi Fountain, The Pantheon and The Spanish Steps, all reachable in under half an hour. When you're not off exploring, shopping or sipping Italian wine at one of the bars in this area, rest your tired feet back at home. We love the bold green colours and funky design – picture cowhide rugs, vibrant pop art and leafy wallpaper in the bedroom. The bathroom is also one of our favourites – it has a huge walk-in rain shower that's the perfect way to relax after a busy day. And this pad has more than enough room for two, so there's plenty of space to make yourself at home. In the evenings, pour yourself an aperitif and rustle up a feast in the contemporary kitchen, then end the night with Netflix in bed, nodding off while to the sound of your favourite shows.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a better location than this central Rome apartment. The must-sees of Via Veneto, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and Villa Borghese are all just minutes away on foot. Set on the top floor of a historic building, your host has gone above and beyond to ensure you'll have everything you need to settle in. Expect designer details like Italian baths and artisan lamps, antique furniture, and original oil paintings. If you're a full house, it's worth noting that two guests will be sleeping on the sofa bed in the living area. Three guests will also share one of the bedrooms, featuring a king-sized bed and a single bed. While this won't suit everyone, we think it could work out great for sharing with family or close friends.

With elegant views overlooking the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, this central apartment is within convenient walking distance of some of Rome's most sought-after restaurants and landmarks. If the recently remodelled bathroom isn't enough to convince you that this home is special, then surely the outstanding location in the neighbourhood of Trevi will do the trick. There is an evident downside, however – we won’t go as far as calling it a kitchen because there is only a hob, sink, and refrigerator, so if you enjoy flexing your culinary muscles, then this is not the home for you. But, in a city like Rome, we won’t expect guests to be doing much cooking in the first place. Instead, go out and try Roman specialities, like Carciofi alla Giudìa, Supplì, and more. 

The Triton

Ideal for families and groups of friends, this apartment is a convenient base in Rome. It’s in a wonderful location just steps from Santa Maria Maggiore, close to all the attractions including the Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum, and Piazza Venezia. The modern apartment has everything needed for a city break, with a fully-equipped kitchen – though with so many trattorias and cafes nearby, you might prefer to dine out. At full occupancy, one guest will sleep on a single sofa bed, which we think is best suited to a child.

Perfect for art-lovers and history-buffs, La Vetreria is a unique hideaway full of lovingly preserved rustic elegance. Set in an old glassworks studio, this loft-style space has been recently restored — by the architect husband of the host, no less — and you will find an eclectic mix of contemporary furnishings set against stunning original stonework and an impressive arch in the middle of the living space. We love the way this stands in contrast to the glass mezzanine bedroom. Located slightly away from the busy tourist spots, you can enjoy an authentic slice of Roman life whilst being an easy walk from Termini Station. If you're ever in the mood for ice cream, the much-loved Gelateria La Romana is just up the road.

This apartment's address is perfect if you want to be within walking distance of some of Rome’s key landmarks. The Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and the Roman Forum are just a few to mention. Within strolling distance of Rome's most-loved sights, this 19th-century building reminds you that history is always at your fingertips. Aside from its contemporary colour palette, this home gives up to seven guests space to spread out, though the main bedroom offers reduced privacy for three. While you'll also be one chair short at the dining table, the lack of an oven here encourages you to get a taste of the local cuisine. And the Monti neighbourhood boasts plenty of bars, restaurants, and pizzerias.

While not the most famous fountain in Trevi, the Bernini sculpture in Piazza Barberini is a wonderful piece of art – and it's right on your doorstep at this minimalist apartment. Although if you do fancy a trip to one of the ancient city's most beloved sights, the esteemed Trevi Fountain sits just a ten-minute stroll from your door. The home's right in the middle of Rome, but is just far enough away from the major tourist attractions to avoid the most intense crowds. You’ll still have a lot of people around – this is Rome, after all – but that little bit of extra breathing space really makes a difference. Stepping inside to look around at the decor, we really loved the modern stripped-back feel that blends elegance with simplicity. Sit down for a game of cards and a glass of Barolo in the rosy-red velvet upholsteries or sink into the chesterfield sofa in the alternate sitting room for a quiet read. It's a reflection of the illustrious pavements below, with gold-topped tables, artsy mirrors and heaps of rustic charm. Bright and airy, the bedrooms feature large balcony doors that welcome streams of natural light into the space. All three bedrooms are accompanied by en-suite bathrooms, offering swanky bathtubs and walk-in shower rooms that add that extra level of comfort. Sleek, stylish and slap-bang in the heart of Rome.

Designed with space and comfort in mind, this apartment offers a bit more privacy than your usual holiday home, without sacrificing communal space. Each of the colourful rooms has an en-suite bathroom, a kitchenette and a TV, so you will have everything you need for a sweet stay in Rome. Of course, you still have a bright, clutter-free living room and kitchen that's perfect for continental breakfasts in the sun – you can even have your breakfast brought up to you for a small additional cost. Light pours in through the Juliet balcony, illuminating a modern, airy and minimalist space that we think has somewhat of a contemporary Scandi feel to it. Find a calming spot perched on the elegant antique furnishings for a relaxing read in the afternoons. Outside, you're right in the thick of things here. A stone's, or should we say a coin's, throw from the Trevi Fountain (nine-minute walk) and a couple of kilometres stroll from the emblematic Colosseum – you really are fantastically placed. Bridging the gap between hotel and rental perfectly, this ever-so central apartment is just the ticket.

Overlooking the rooftop of the Roman National Museum, this apartment delivers the perfect setting for an inspiring city stay. Inside, you can admire the views from the living room or while relaxing on the covered terrace. Paid parking is available here and your host is on hand to help organise a range of extras – including breakfast delivery and airport transfers. Outside, it’s just a short walk to Piazza della Repubblica, and you’ll find great public transport links – Termini Station is less than ten minutes away.

You’ll find this no-fuss apartment in the heart of Rome, within walking distance of the Trevi Fountain and the Villa Borghese gardens. Although there’s a minimalist approach to the home, you’ll still find everything you need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is well-appointed, and there’s plenty of storage space in the bedrooms. Our favourite feature was the private balcony, which overlooks the Roman National Museum and a 16th-century basilica – it was our favourite spot to enjoy an aperitif at sundown.

This beautiful penthouse apartment is just the ticket for those looking for a relaxing stay away from the tourist crowds. Located in Rome’s Sallustiano neighbourhood, you’re far enough away from the city’s heavily crowded areas while still being able to reach all the main sights on foot or by public transport. Inside, a neutral palette sets a calming scene with wood floors and pops of blue in the pared-back decor. You’ll immediately be struck by the dazzling amount of natural light in the living area, thanks to the large glass doors that open up onto the first of two terraces. This first one – off of the living room – is a whopping 538 square feet and boasts several tables and chairs, a covered seating area as well as an outdoor shower to enjoy. This is the ideal spot to congregate at sundown over aperitifs and alfresco meals, while the second terrace – up the flight of stairs in the living room – is a rooftop haven with its sun chairs and equally majestic rooftop vistas, ideal for catching those Italian afternoon rays. Back inside, the two bedrooms are simple yet elegant, offering dreamy canvases for a blissful night’s sleep. When you’re ready to head out and explore, make a beeline for Villa Borghese (a ten-minute walk) or stroll just twenty minutes to throw a coin in the Trevi Fountain. With plenty of pizzerias and traditional, family-friendly trattorias along Via Flavia (a one-minute walk), as well as a plethora of shops and historic buildings on your doorstep, you’ve got everything you need for a glorious Roman holiday.

This home is a stunning, regal apartment situated in Rome's Castro Pretorio district. Located further East of the city's most famous landmarks, you'll be able to escape the crowds of tourists here, and enjoy a quieter, more residential side of Rome. The house is decorated with gorgeous, antique furnishings, and boasts a huge, plush sofa area to de-stress in. This home will sleep up to ten guests, meaning that large groups – of family or friends – will enjoy The Emmanuel's old-world decor and relaxed locale.

If you’re looking for a room with a view in Rome, you can’t do much better than this stunning apartment. It looks out over the Roman National Museum and the 16th-century Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri, making the spacious balcony a bit of seriously desirable real estate. Breathe in the view in the morning as you sip coffee and watch the city wake up beneath you, and spend your evenings drinking wine as the sun dips lower in the sky – you’ll never want to leave. 

The apartment is just two minutes away on foot from Piazza della Repubblica, and eleven minutes from Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore. When you’ve had your fill of exploring the museums, galleries and churches, strolling fourteen minutes to meander around the gardens of Villa Borghese is a delight. The apartment is wonderfully central, so it’s easy to see all the sights and dine in the best restaurants and bars – but when you want to relax, the apartment becomes a haven. 

Light floods the apartment, making it bright and welcoming. The host has thought of everything you might need, so all you need to do is soak up the atmosphere of the city and enjoy yourself.

Live like a local at this luxury apartment in popular Monti. The area attracts creatives, lovers of alternative fashion, and foodies interested in its gourmet street food scene. Some of Rome's most endearing attractions are nearby – walk to the Trevi fountain in just over ten minutes and the Coliseum in fifteen. This home is as impressive as its location. From the Carrara marble kitchen countertop, vintage door and Missoni wallpaper, to the pretty private courtyard – it isn't easy to pick the best feature of this home. The style and décor here have the signature of a popular Roman interior designer, Alessandra Danese, for an additional Italian touch. Prepare some panzanella to enjoy outside with a glass of wine, or let the friendly host arrange a private chef to prepare some classic Roman cuisine for you and your guests. This home and its setting are just perfect.

The thing that we really want to focus on here is Claudia’s hosting. We’ll come to the Origins & Principles itself in a minute, but it’s worth highlighting the attention to detail that she’s put in here – everything from bathrobes to kitchen supplies has been provided. And that’s not to say that she hasn’t done a good job on the interiors, which are fairly calm, but with pops of bright colour in the right places to keep it lively. The fact that the flat is positioned between Termini station and Monti is just an added bonus.

The views over Rome from this apartment’s large rooftop terrace are fantastic. It’s a great place to relax with its outdoor dining area and sun loungers. Inside is impressive too, with its living room with double-height ceilings and a mezzanine chill-out area. Another highlight is the location – you’ll be a short walk from the opera house and the Palazzo Massimo alle Terme museum. Other attractions within walking distance include many of the city’s key monuments, such as the Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum.

We found plenty of things to love about this flat. For a start, the location’s excellent, nestled as it is between Termini and Monti stations. The immediate locale is full of bars and restaurants, while many of Rome's must-see sights are within walkable distance — Trevi Fountain can be reached in under twenty minutes' walk, for example. The interior design is simple, but very welcoming and well thought through — the plants, in particular, bring the space to life and you'll be grateful for the little touches, such as blackout curtains in the living room and electric blinds in the bedroom. What really sets it apart, though, is Claudia’s hosting. She’s thought of absolutely everything, and can even point you in the direction of the best places to eat in a city notorious for its tourist traps.

Nestled in the heart of Rome, this contemporary apartment offers a haven of comfort and convenience for your Italian getaway. With single sofa beds in both bedrooms, and a double sofa bed in the living room, there’s real flexibility in terms of the sleeping arrangements here, making it an ideal base whatever the group makeup. Location-wise, you’re in for a treat. Visit the Colosseum, explore the city’s history at the Roman Forum, or make a wish at the Trevi Fountain – there’s something to suit all tastes here.

Everything about this palatial apartment clicks seamlessly into place. It’s luxurious, opulent even (how else do you describe the marble columns?), but retains a certain grace – a lightness that stops it from feeling over the top. That’s quite an achievement in a place with ceiling frescoes, parquet flooring, and marble arches. While the living space has a real air of elegance, the bedrooms are more modern and stylish, with whitewashed walls, gold accented furnishings and tasteful artwork (plus their own individual coffee machines). Inhabiting the space between a hotel and an apartment, you'll find plenty of other thoughtful amenities during your stay – from a private chef, housekeeping, and 24/7 concierge. Take your breakfast outside, prepared and served by the staff on your rooftop terrace, offering skyline views over the Eternal City. Beckoning you to explore, walk sixteen minutes and find yourself at one of the seven wonders of the world – the Colosseum. Take a fourteen-minute stroll to the ancient Roman Forum ruins and reach the famous Trevi Fountain in just thirteen-minutes (on foot) – with such a central location, you'll find most of the iconic sights are but a saunter from home. 


Opera Glass

Colourful and central, this modern apartment makes exploring Rome a breeze. A short walk away is Termini Station, which offers easy connections in (and out) of the city, and the surrounding neighbourhood is home to plenty of local eateries. Back home, the contemporary design and vibrant artwork are an absolute delight. There's a small kitchen where you can rustle up a quick bite. While the living area is a bit snug for everyone, the bedrooms have plenty of space for lounging. An additional fold-out bed is perfect for a little one, too.

Termini Trance

Catherine Wheel feels far bigger than it should thanks to the high ceiling, which is beautifully decorated and gives the flat its focal point. There are a few other pretty period details, like the fireplace (unfortunately only for show, these days) and a little balcony overlooking the street. You’re in a very convenient location, although not the most evocative. But the station is nearby and you’re a bit removed from the throngs of tourists that seem to march back and forth between the Trevi fountain and the Spanish Steps.


Catherine Wheel

Before we even stepped foot in this apartment we fell in love with it. Located just beside Termini station, you're connected to the entire Eternal city, while also being only a nineteen-minute walk away from the Colosseum. You really couldn't be better placed. Inside, the home has a warm, genuine feel to it with vibrant patterned wallpapers, pops of colour and dark wooden furnishings. Sleep soundly in the charming bedrooms where plenty of natural light pours through the Juliet balconies and into the rustic yet homely interior. Take to the stylish breakfast bar for a quick coffee, before exploring the iconic sights of Rome. With great links to the wider area and Italy as a whole, if you're ever looking to roam beyond the city (unlikely, we know), a trip back into the past to the ancient site of Pompeii is an excellent excursion and is just over two hours on the train. 

Magic Eye

Nestled in the heart of Rome, you won't get much closer to the action than this apartment. The decor here isn't super exciting, and the kitchen is definitely on the smaller side, but it's a comfy base for exploring the city. If you're travelling with a larger group, there's the option of also renting the neighbouring apartments. Parking is tricky in such a central location, but the Republic metro and the central station are a short walk away, making it easy to get around.

The Roman House

As you arrive by train at the bustling transport hub of Roma Termini, it’s hard to believe that you could find serenity nearby. But take just a ten-minute walk through this ornate city, passing the Fontana delle Naiadi, and you’ll arrive at this peaceful apartment on the sixth floor. Our first port of call has to be the beautiful balcony. This is where you can truly relax and take in the sights and sounds of the city. Lush, flowing foliage and tropical plants surround this quaint decking, where you can sip a glass of prosecco upon arrival. Inside, there are more spots for relaxation – take a seat in the stylish, modern lounge with marble tiled floors, colourful graphic print artworks, and zebra-patterned cushions. Antique wooden furniture creates a fabulous contrast, making this home feel rather unique. And your host is on hand to make your stay extra special. Enjoy airport transfer, followed by an array of activities arranged by your host. Plan an exciting itinerary of wine tasting, cooking classes all'italiana, massages, private tours of the city, or even a scooter tour on a classic Vespa.

You'll also find your central address is well connected to other cultural hotspots such as Piazza del Popolo, The Spanish Steps and Saint Peter's Basilica – all of which you can access with ease by metro or bus.
