Keen to be in the historic heart of Rome? If so, you'll love this apartment. Just a few steps from the Trevi Fountain, it's a short stroll from restaurants, shops, and must-see landmarks – that's about as central as it gets. Inside, the design merges contemporary comfort with classic charm. The living area has ornate ceilings and large windows offering a glimpse of the famous fountain, while each bedroom has its own bathroom for added convenience. There isn't a coffee machine, but there are plenty of cafes within walking distance where you can kickstart your day with an espresso.

Fontana Fantasy

This attractively decorated apartment is the perfect place for a Roman holiday. Located in the heart of historic Rome, it’s just a five-minute walk from Piazza di Spagna and the luxury designer brands of Via de’ Condotti, and a short stroll from the Trevi Fountain. The apartment is stylish and comfortable, with a sofa bed in the living space for two guests – for longer stays or for those hoping for a bit more room, we’d stick to a maximum guest count of two. 

Roman Luxury

Set in a gorgeous 20th-century building only a five-minute walk from the Piazza di Spagna, this home delivers on location in spades. You're surrounded by mouth-watering restaurants, traditional cafes and upscale shops, not to mention all the museums, landmarks (including The Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain) and galleries within walking distance. Spend an afternoon wandering Rome's cobbled streets before enjoying an aperitif at one of the trendy bars in this neighbourhood. When you've had your fun for the day, retreat home to this bright and roomy apartment. Inside, it's uncluttered and minimal, which only enhances the relaxing atmosphere. Our favourite spot is the long balcony, which is shaded from the Italian sun by a leafy trellis. Sit out there in the evenings with a glass of wine and admire the views before unwinding with a soak in the lush deep bathtub.

The Markus

Nauticalia is set just a couple of hundred metres from Piazza di Spagna, giving it the perfect location for people who are in Rome to do a bit of that famous sightseeing. That’s not the only thing going for it, as the apartment boasts some lovely design elements, such as the frescoed ceiling or the marine theme in the bathroom, and the huge beds will keep you comfortable. The kitchen, despite having some wonderful exposed brickwork, is pretty small and basic, but there are so many places to eat in the area that you won’t even notice.


Nauticalia

It doesn’t get more central than this fuss-free apartment. You’ll be moments from the Spanish Steps, so close you can actually glimpse the monument's tower from the small Romeo and Juliet balcony. While it's not the most modern home, we think it works well for couples. Two guests will sleep on a sofa bed, while the others will kip on the mezzanine underneath the rustic beams. The kitchen is compact but well-appointed, though it’s best suited to antipasti rather than full meals. For those who want to spend most of their time sightseeing, it’s a good option.

Sweet Juliette

When we imagine a stay in Rome, we think of the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. This home's location is ideal – it's just a short walk from both, while the Colosseum is also within walking distance (with comfy shoes). Of course, with such a central location, you're probably going to hear some street noise back at this apartment. We love the beautiful frescoes on the ceilings and the retro photos of celebrities adorning the walls. At full capacity, one guest will be sleeping on a sofa bed in the living room, so this place might be best for a couple if you don't want to compromise on socialising space.

The Roman Chariot

Simply put, Paparazzi is stylish, well-kept and right in the middle of Rome. Domenico is incredibly attentive as a host, and always ready to help, and while there are a few issues that we found, the majority were unavoidable given the age and positioning of the building (fairly slow wi-fi, for example), and the positives far outweigh the negatives. The apartment has been redone recently and you can really tell, particularly in the bathrooms, which feel very modern and sleek.


Paparazzi

Situated a short stroll from both the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain, this apartment has a fantastic location for exploring Rome. The Pantheon, the Roman Forum and much more are also within walking distance. There are a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants in the neighbourhood to enjoy too. From this home’s open-plan living space, there are wonderful views of the Basilica of Saint Mary in Cosmedin. You can take in the vistas from the dining table. The kitchen area is quite compact, we would say – there’s no oven, but there’s a hob and a microwave. But, with an address as great as this, will you be spending much time at the apartment?

Vista Basilica

This home opens its doors to stunning views across the historic centre. You can soak it all in while reclining on a lounger with drinks in hand. There’s a cosy living room with a sofa bed and a dedicated office with a desk for remote workers. And when it comes to location, you couldn’t be in a better spot for explorations across the city. From here, it’s just a short stroll to the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain. You’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to local restaurants and bars. Plus, there are great public transport links – making it easy to get across the city. 


Ancient Light

Before we even arrived at Soft Shading, we were struck by the location. It’s so close to the Trevi fountain that the only danger is you’ll end up stuck among all the tourists. It’s very new inside, and the modern fittings contrast nicely with some of the original structural features, like the ceilings. The only drawback is the slightly inadequate living room, upstairs, and without space for a full house, but as it’s right in the middle of the city, you won’t be spending much time in.


Soft Shading

With a fantastic address in the heart of Rome, this elegant apartment offers a successful blend of modern chic and timeless character. There’s a balcony to soak up the sights and sounds of the square below, and there’s an airy open-plan living room. Located just steps away from the iconic Piazza di Spagna and the Spanish Steps, this apartment places you within walking distance of Rome's most famous landmarks, including the Trevi Fountain, and the Pantheon. Experience the magic of Rome from this great holiday home.

Roman Piazza

Sleek and sophisticated with a dash of luxe, Eva's Nest is a superb choice for its enviable location just minutes from Via Condotti and Piazza di Spagna. Perfect for any group seeking the buzz of the historic centre, this  space is equally ideal for some much-needed R&R after long days on your feet. Plush velvet, wood floors, elegant gilding, and soft tones echo the colours of Rome while light - airy bedrooms, each with a contemporary en-suite, offer extra privacy. Although the kitchen is compact, the large dining area and charming balcony offer lovely spaces for eating in.
