Set in the historic San Pietro quarter of Rome, this is as close to Vatican City as it gets. Explore the elegant, ancient streets of the neighbouring Prati district or make a beeline for the Vatican Museums and St. Peter's Square – just footsteps away. Need to be someplace fast? Ottaviano Metro is one minute from your door. Back home, the interiors are faultless, although there are some compromises to make here. If four guests stay, the last two guests will have to make do with the sofa-bed in the lounge, and the only bathroom is en-suite. But we'll let that slide for such a practical, central base in the city.

Ode to Pietro

Get a taste for Rome circa 1954 in this old-school apartment. Black and white tile, red leather chairs, mahogany bureaus and vintage prints all play into Vintage Taupe's subtle retro-vintage vibes. Though you might not have panoramic views of the city from here, you'll be primely located in Prati, one of Rome's most fashionable neighbourhoods and modern epicentres.  



Vintage Taupe

We can't get enough of this apartment's prime location in the Borgo Vittorio area. Just a five-minute stroll from St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums, while being ten minutes on foot from the Ottaviano Metro stop, you'll be all set up for a fuss-free sightseeing trip. Inside, both bedrooms are equipped with en-suite bathrooms which will help to speed mornings along. Just keep in mind that the kitchen lacks an oven or a hob, so it's only suitable for preparing light bites. That said you're in the heart of Italy, so eating out will definitely be on the cards here. It's also worth noting that you'll need to climb a flight of stairs to reach the apartment. 

Vatican Vista

In upscale Prati, this apartment makes an excellent base for a Roman holiday. We love this location – the area's many wine bars and gourmet eateries are a stone's throw away, as is the Vatican when you're in the mood to sightsee. Juliet balconies overlook the pretty streets back home, pairing nicely with the sleek and minimalist interiors. The sofa bed can accommodate two guests, making it ideal for short stays. You'll also have access to a private terrace – it may not have any views, but it's still a pleasant spot to unwind in the evenings.

Prati Postcard

Nestled just outside of Vatican City, this lovingly decorated home has a certain vintage feel that really is warm and welcoming, with a home away from home kind of feel. Boasting light and airy open spaces, comfortable furnishings and convenient locations, this home really is an ideal rest stop for intrepid adventures aching to get out and experience this beautiful city. We highly recommend making the most of the local Metro stations to get the most out of your stay. Check out other neighbourhoods and see more of Rome by hopping on a train at either Ottaviano, San Pietro, Musei Vaticani Station, a short three-minute walk away, or Lepanto Station, which can be found nine minutes away from the home. 

Fill your days with adventures and excitement, whether that's shopping for souveniers in Via Del Governo Vecchio, perusing antiques in L’Archivio Di Monserrato, or checking out the art galleries of Via Margutta, as well as magnificent historic sights such as the Trevi Fountain, the Vatican, St. Peter's Basilica, or the mighty Colosseum, we are sure you will never run out of things to do and see.

Vintage Viola

In the region of Borgo Vittorio, this apartment sets you up perfectly for a sightseeing trip. St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums are a five-minute walk away, while the Ottaviano Metro stop is ten minutes away on foot. You'll also have Rome's prime points of interest, restaurants, bars and cafes within easy reach – this is the place to be. The apartment offers two well-sized bedrooms, both equipped with a bathroom each for added comfort. Just note that you'll need to climb a flight of stairs to reach the entrance of the apartment. But overall, it's a great base for families or two couples in search of a central home-from-home. 

Vatican Veil

If you don't want to scrimp on style for your Roman holiday, this penthouse apartment may be of interest. It's located on the vibrant Via Cola di Rienzo, meaning that you'll have buzzing bars, bistros and boutiques right outside the door. And, it's just a short walk to top attractions like the Tiber River, Piazza Navona, and the Pantheon, too. As for the apartment itself, its true highlight is the rooftop terrace – an oasis for sunbathing or soaking up the atmosphere with bird's-eye views of the surrounding streets.

A Slice of Rome

This beautiful home is the epitome of everything Roman. Stylish and sophisticated, it's been designed to represent what this city is all about. A mix of period features and a sleek, modern finish (particularly in the kitchen and bathrooms) have made for an upscale stay that’s brought to life with personal touches. The living space is comfortable and inviting, with an artificial fireplace that illuminates the space and a huge TV inset into the wall, a tall window and a wall painting at the dining end – making for the perfect spot to enjoy a few glasses of red together. Bedrooms are smart and bright, and the murals add character and recall the city’s many frescoes. Vatican City, Castel Sant’Angelo and Piazza del Popolo are all just a fifteen-minute walk away, while the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and Campo di Fiori are just twenty-five minutes on foot. Plus, the immediate neighbourhood is known for its great shopping and its numerous cafes and bars.

Angelic

Nestled in popular Prati, this home is a great choice for an authentic stay in Rome. By day, you can enjoy an espresso in one of the local cafes, browse the shops along Via Cola di Rienzo, and stroll to the Vatican. And by night, an array of alfresco wine bars, cocktail lounges and gourmet restaurants await. The home itself is full of character, with period furnishings sitting alongside modern conveniences. It’s worth noting that while the home sleeps eight, the dining table only seats four to six, and there isn’t sofa space for everyone. If that’s not a deal-breaker, we think this home would suit a family or group of friends wanting to be in the heart of the city.

The Eternal

Packed with curiosities that reflect the eye of a globetrotter, vintage furniture combined with modern staples and a knockout view of St Peter’s Basilica, this home certainly stands out from the crowd. The level of care your host has put into the interior is impressive. Every last detail is considered, from the linens to the layout and the state-of-the-art whirlpool bathtub with colour therapy and audio system. The east-facing balcony is soaked with sunshine in the mornings, so breakfast alfresco and take your time with a cup of coffee. Your apartment is situated in the upmarket Prati district, a ten-minute walk from trendy wine bars, luxe boutiques and gourmet restaurants. Reach the hallowed edifices of Vatican City in thirty minutes by foot or ten minutes by taxi. And the towering Castel Sant'Angelo is a twenty-five-minute walk away or thirteen-minute bus ride.

Commodoro

This second-floor apartment in a Prati building dating back to the 1940s illustrates how to incorporate some eccentricity into a home's interior design without going overboard. Colourful pieces of artwork, gold motifs and boldly patterned feature walls pop off satisfyingly against the white walls, while the silverback gorilla in the living room is a playful addition. The kitchen and bathrooms play it relatively simple in comparison but are equally notable for their high quality — we especially liked the whirlpool bathtub. The location is another plus point in our books. Castel Sant'Angelo and the surrounding Parco della Mole Adriana are only ten minutes' walk away, while Vatican City takes about a quarter of an hour to reach on foot.



Left Unsaid

Cascades is an interesting place - functional and modern, with a few features that really set it apart, like the sleek fireplace in the bedroom. There’s also a stunning bathroom with a three-metre-high, chromotherapy-enabled shower. The design might come across as a bit cold, given the expanses of white and the lack of artwork, but the bed is really comfy, and there’s always the home cinema system to keep you entertained..
