Situated in Rome’s Campo de' Fiori, this apartment is ideal for those who want a base with all the necessary comforts but aren't too concerned about frills. That said, the private terrace is pretty wow, with a lounge area, dining area and sweeping city views. We like the traditional features, but you might find the kitchen and bathrooms a little dated. What sold us on this pad was the terrace, the enclosed patio, and the central location – from here, you’re a short walk from the Pantheon and the Roman Forum, while you’ll find plenty of trattorias, neighbourhood bars and little cafes just off your doorstep.

Any discussion of Savannah has to start with the roof terrace, a little rectangle of serenity nestled in the rooftops of Trastevere. There is furniture up there and even a canopy, so you can relax while hiding from the midday sun. The interior is simple but charming, with a working fireplace in the living room - perfect for those cosy winter nights. The bathroom is a little basic - especially if it’s being shared by four - and it’s worth noting that there is no lift in the building, but otherwise Savannah is a lovely base in Rome's most bohemian neighbourhood.

It’s a charming home-from-home, equipped with everything you’ll need for a short break, including a kitchenette. At full occupancy, one guest will sleep on a sofa bed in the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen space, so if you’re hoping for more privacy, we’d stick to a guest count of two – this is a great choice for a romantic getaway to the Eternal City.

So that's the location – what about the apartment? Well, first of all, there's a courtyard garden, perfect for a glass of wine after all that sightseeing. We also love that the main bedroom opens out onto the patio and that both bedrooms are en-suite. The second bedroom has a desk, too, if you need to catch up on emails while in Rome. This home is ideal for leisure or business travellers.

Nestled in the heart of Rome, this apartment is all about the location. It’s just a short walk to the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps, and the Trevi Fountain – all of the city's must-see sights. That said, while the traditional style may not be everyone’s cup of tea and some areas could benefit from a refresh, we love the added extras here. The living room projector promises an authentic movie night experience, while the terrace is just the spot to enjoy an evening aperitif. There's even a desk in the loft if you're in town on business. Just keep in mind the third bedroom is very small, so a maximum of five adults are allowed.

Tucked down a quiet vicolo in Trastevere, this home positions you away from the crowds and yet just a short walk from Rome's top historical attractions, including the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain. Note that you'll need to climb stairs to reach the entrance of this home. However, there's plenty of space to relax, and a sofa bed to accommodate groups of up to four guests. You'll also find a table if you need to work from home. The kitchen lacks an oven, but that said, the area is renowned for its culinary delights, so we reckon you'll be out sampling the local eateries most evenings.

Centrally located in the eternal city of Rome, this home is a mere stone's throw from several iconic landmarks, including the Ponte Sisto, where you can overlook the Tiber. And some of those sights you might even spot from the balcony, though when it comes to the outdoor seating, we prefer the patio table in the shade of the pergola. As for the home, the rustic charm of the rafters and furnishings is sweet and well-kept. It's worth noting that despite being spacious, this home's sleeping arrangements feature a double sofa bed and another room with two single sofa beds that might be more suitable for children. With two other double beds available, however, it's the ideal pad for a family getaway.

This apartment can be found in the Jewish Quarter, a beautiful neighbourhood with a rich history. Walking just a few steps from the front door, you’ll find yourself exploring 2000-year-old ruins. Amid the fascinating historical sights, you’ll also have your pick of excellent eateries here – you’re never far from your next great meal in Rome. This lovely home also makes for a great base for exploring the rest of the city – you’re right in the thick of things, so you can easily visit all of Rome’s hotspots on foot. Trastevere and its fabulous nightlife are just a few minutes' walk, as are Piazza Venezia and Piazza Navona.

The apartment itself is a stunningly good find. It’s spacious and bright, decorated in classic Italian style using only the finest furniture. This means there are a lot of stairs to climb – it’s not going to be suitable for everyone and isn’t recommended for children under the age of six. But if you can manage the stairs, you’re rewarded with a charming home-from-home. The apartment even boasts a private terrace – the perfect spot for alfresco dining – and is next to a chapel designed by Raphael in the 1500s. You’ll share your outside space with the original bell tower. Seeing more of Rome’s architecture and history is a breeze, as you’re within walking distance of all the main attractions, including Campo de’ Fiori – just a five-minute stroll.

The Duchess is a comfortable place with lots going for it, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t start with that view. A city like Rome is full of views, but even so, this one is special, and the terrace itself is beautiful, with the furniture, the awning and the flowers all around (in summer, at least). This, along with the various antiques inside, makes you feel as if you’re in a Rome that existed 200 years ago, one that’s since been lost. 


The Duchess

This apartment is truly in the heart of Rome. A five-minute walk from Piazza Navona and moments away from Campo de' Fiori, this is the place to be if sightseeing is at the top of your to-do list. You'll find plenty to see and do within walking distance, be it shops and eateries or must-visit landmarks. The apartment is on the second floor and lacks a lift, so you'll have to be comfortable climbing stairs. That said, we think it's a great find. A roomy living area provides ample space to relax, dine together, and even work from home. Just note that the second bedroom is a little snug, making it more suitable for one guest.

The terraces of this beautiful apartment overlook Piazza Navona, a lively square of gothic architecture and a neoclassical fountain at its heart. Cafés and restaurants spill onto the pavement and you can watch the street artists from your nest on high. It’s a real suntrap too, so loungers have been set up alongside the dining table and outdoor sofa. Inside, terracotta tiles and high ceilings create a cooling escape from the city heat, and houseplants stand out against pristine white walls. A little 60s-style bar in the living room is the best place to knock up an evening cocktail as you put your favourite song on the wireless speaker. Discover hidden Rome with this stylish apartment in vibrant Trastevere. It’s just over a five-minute stroll to a wide variety of eateries, while history lovers can visit Piazza di Santa Maria with its 12th-century basilica. If you want to check out some of Rome’s main attractions, the Trevi Fountain and Colosseum are around a half an hour walk or fifteen-minute ride away. Instead of the very heart of Trastevere, Sky Queen is a little bit to the north. This is actually a fantastic location – you can avoid the hordes of revellers, and the Vatican is easy to reach, while the river is just at the end of the road.  A quieter option in a lovely location, this home is perfect if you're looking for an authentic stay – with all the big attractions within a half-hour walk.  

The double-height ceiling and the large windows make this place bright and breezy, which is surprisingly rare for this neighbourhood as the narrow streets and old buildings often conspire to keep sunlight away. There's a sense of history, with beamed ceilings, and a modern twist thanks to the mezzanine bedroom floor and the floating stairs. A comfy sofa takes the prime position in the open-plan living space, with a handy desk area and a contemporary kitchen tucked away under the mezzanine.

Back home, this newly renovated apartment feels like the perfect little hideaway after days amongst the city's hustle and bustle. While this two-bedroom Rome apartment isn't the most stylish in our collection, its enviable location is what makes it stand out. If you're here to explore, you'll find plenty of galleries and museums nearby. Back at home, one bedroom offers courtyard views, while the other lets you peer through trees at the River Tiber. The kitchen, while looking in need of an update, is well-equipped – though we think you'll be taking advantage of stylish Regola's eateries more often than not.

Tucked away in the atmospheric alleys of Trastevere lies this little gem of an apartment. Housed in a 17th Century building that was once a Roman monastery, there’s a feeling of grandeur about this property, with a sweeping staircase guiding you to the entrance. But once inside, it’s all fresh and contemporary interiors. Just the high ceilings tell of its historic beginnings and give the space a lofty, airy feel. We particularly love the striking sliding copper door – a smart way to close off the lounge space from the dining area should people choose to use the sofa bed as a second bedroom. And you’ll be guaranteed a good night’s sleep here, with room darkening shades in both rooms. Just don’t snooze too long with the beautiful piazzas of Trastevere and Rome’s sights waiting. Both the tram and bus stops are a mere two-minute walk away and in a few stops, you'll be in the heart of Rome. Alternatively, take a stroll over the river and you can be at Rome’s biggest sights, including the Colosseo and Pantheon, in under half an hour. Or perhaps a little longer to account for those gelato and pizza pitstops, naturally.

Parchment Scrolls oozes classical Roman style. There’s a wonderful mix of antique elements, like the ceiling beams or the painted doors, and more modern fittings that give it a sense of balance. It’s also in a fantastic position, in the cobblestone lanes of Ponte, and right opposite the grand Church of San Biagio. All of these blessings manage to outweigh the only real problem, which is the second bathroom. It doesn’t have the best ventilation, and the shower is only 190cm high, but we think that it’s forgivable given the rest of the space.

Right between Piazza Navona and Campo de’ Fiori, Refosco is in a bustling location, but inside it’s peaceful. Rich colours and plants, along with lots of decoration, create the interior design equivalent of a hug. The layout means that it’s perhaps best suited to families, or at least people who are comfortable being in close proximity, but if that doesn’t pose a problem, then it’s got a lot going for it.

This city bolthole, set slap bang in the middle of Rome's central Regola district, has an unbeatable location. But it's the apartment's private sauna and Jacuzzi bath getting us hot under the collar. 

After hectic days in the hustle and bustle of Rome city, this home is the ultimate relaxation retreat. Soak travel-weary legs in the bubbly Jacuzzi. Heat things up in the sauna. Or feel anew beneath the rainfall showers.

When it's time to crash out, grab a glass of something crisp from the wine fridge before settling down to marvel at the design features dotted about this home. The statement lighting, including bespoke chandeliers, brings all the ambience.

Away from this luxurious home, you'll find the very best of Rome at your feet. Take your pick from markets, shops, cafes, restaurants, and gelato parlours – you name it, you're near it. While sights like the Piazza Navona and Pantheon are just a short stroll away. And, of course, there's always the River Tiber (two minutes on foot) for an early evening stroll. As dusk falls over the historic rooftops, there's no finer place to be.

A hidden gem between the Tiber and Piazza Venezia, centred on lively Via del Portico d’Ottavia. Here is where you'll find this magnificent apartment, right in the beating heart of Rome's Jewish Quarter. Peer out of large windows in the living room at the cobbled streets below, and you'll soon discover a historic neighbourhood of makers studios, petite shops, kosher bakeries and thronging trattorias sitting alongside the unique square dome of Rome's main synagogue. The home's main living and dining room is furnished with dark wood and deep reds, which lend a warm, welcoming feel that will stay with you throughout your time here. The compact kitchen is perfect for rustling up a quick meal, but given that you're staying in a food lover's city, you could be forgiven for eating out most of the time. Handily, two of the area's best restaurants lie directly beneath your feet – Nonna Betta and Il Giardino Romano both serve up sumptuous Italian-Kosher dishes in an authentic atmosphere. The bright bedroom is a delight, and the direct access to a small outdoor courtyard is a massive plus, as is the en-suite bathroom, complete with a Jacuzzi tub. Step out of your apartment, and you can reach must-see Roman sights such as the Pantheon and Colosseum in ten- and twenty-minute walks, respectively. Wander ten minutes across the Tiber, you'll find yourself in the hip, bohemian area of Trastevere with its innovative trattorias and craft beer pubs.

Situated in Trastevere, this apartment is surrounded by traditional restaurants and historic churches, such as the Basilica of Santa Maria, a short stroll away. Piazza Navona and the iconic Pantheon are also within walking distance – or if you prefer, your host can organise tours for you. After a busy day in Rome, you can relax on the balcony here, or in one of two living areas. One of the living spaces also has a sofa bed to sleep guests seven and eight. Between Regola and the medieval alleys of the old Jewish Quarter, this gorgeous apartment is set within a 14th-century building tucked out of the way in the heart of historic Rome. 

The interior is perfectly pieced together and designed with your needs in mind. We were big fans of the interior design, particularly the accent wallpaper that makes the green theme pop.

A well-equipped kitchen elevates your self-catering options – though with all that fantastic food on your doorstep, who's cooking? Finally, a gorgeous blue bedroom lends a sophisticated air to the apartment and an air of calmness and serenity to help you slip off speedily.

Down at street level, you'll find several cafes and restaurants just around the corner, while trendy Trastevere is just a five-minute stroll across the Ponte Garibaldi. Elsewhere, the historic shopping street, Via Giulia, is 500m from your front door, while the likes of Piazza Navona, the Pantheon and the Roman Forum are all under a kilometre away.

Naive Neon

Perched along a quiet cobbled street on the outskirts of bustling Campo de' Fiori, you'll find this Italian villa apartment. While the caramel-coloured exterior and lofty ceilings inside show the bones of this period building, the rest of the apartment is expertly reimagined for modern living. Peer out through the lounge's dual aspect windows with your morning coffee to reveal charming vignettes of balconies tumbling with greenery –⁠ precisely as you'd imagine a traditional Italian street to be. And thanks to its quiet residential locale, you'll be sure to bank a peaceful night's sleep in the pristine bedroom. When it's time to soak up the Roma culture, get off to a flying start with a stroll along Via Giulia (three minutes on foot) –⁠ one of the most beautiful streets in Rome and the perfect spot for a sociable aperitivo. Or for something a little more refined, you're right in the heart of the gourmet district with three Michelin-starred restaurants just a three-minute jaunt away. And there's plenty of local favourites to be found over the river amidst the medieval streets of Trastevere (ten minutes on foot) –⁠ worth the stroll alone to take in those sunset views over the Ponte Sisto. It's one of Rome's greatest pleasures.

Verde Cadente

This newly renovated home is just a two-minute stroll from Campo dei Fiori, with its daily market and array of cafes, bars and restaurants. St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican City is under twenty minutes on foot. It's a few minutes more to the Trevi Fountain, and the Colosseum and Imperial Forum are about a thirty-minute walk or fifteen-minute ride. How's that for a Roman getaway?

Take some fresh produce back to this apartment and rustle up a carbonara and salad to enjoy at your dining table. After dinner, have a seat on the comfy chaise sofa and enjoy a glass of wine. This home is decorated in neutral mushroom hues, and the vases of flowers dotted around give the place a lovely homely feel – and we love the French doors, which allow light to flood in. This abode is perfect for a couple or friends looking to be within easy reach of many of the Eternal City’s attractions.


Porcini

This charming home, set on one of the most historic streets of Rome, will take you back in time with antique furniture and an effortless vintage touch. Although you might not have great impressionist painters philosophising in your sitting room, you’ll be inspired by the life this cosy home has lived – hopefully in such a way that it sparks something creative within you. Writers can take to the small desk to let that creativity spill out onto the page, artists can sketch by the light of the lounge window, cooks can whip up innovative new recipes in the compact kitchen, and musicians, well, the piano is waiting for your brand new melody. 

In case you need a muse, the entirety of The Eternal City is waiting for you. Venture to the Pantheon in five minutes or stroll twenty-minutes away to explore Vatican City. Piazza Navona with its 16th century marble fountain, is at the end of a five-minute walk  – sit there contemplating as you watch people go by as you nurse a cappuccino. Don’t forget to swing by the pastry shop on your way home for some of the freshest cannelloni and five flavours of tiramisu.

A Vintage Touch

Situated a two-minute walk from Campo de' Fiori, one of Rome’s main piazzas, this apartment is ideal for first-time and frequent travellers alike. The city’s best bits are within walking distance – the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and Roman Forum are around thirty minutes away. While some elements of this home are a little dated, everything functions well, and the place is clean and comfortable. Just a heads up, the street below can get noisy at times, so we recommend packing earplugs if you’re easily awoken.
