This apartment can be found in the popular seaside resort of Letojanni in Sicily. It’s just a few kilometres from Taormina, so there’s plenty to see and do. We recommend visiting Isola Bella in particular. The apartment looks out over the sea and has a small terrace where you can enjoy the sunshine. Even when you’re inside, the sea views are the focal point thanks to huge windows. The decor inside is chic with a playful side, with charming trinkets dotted around. When we say this villa blends in with its leafy green surroundings, we mean it. A facade coated in ivy, it sits against a backdrop of towering ancient trees atop a hill on the Sicilian coast. The view from the infinity-edge swimming pool is simply stunning – looking out over the dramatic Sicilian coastline as the Mediterranean stretches before you. Wandering the terraced gardens is like the perambulations of yesteryear when glorious villas were flanked by cypress trees and the sea air was a cure-all. Sure, the hillside location above the Sicilian coastline more than delivers when it comes to dramatically beautiful landscape to gaze out upon, but we've got a feeling that the villa would still wow in even the most uninspiring of settings.

A lot of that is down to the effortlessly chic design that can be found throughout the four floors, with stylish furnishings, large light-filled communal areas and flooring so shiny that you can probably see your own face staring back in it. It does no harm that there are also a fair few balconies that offer a splendid vantage point from which to admire the scenery.

As well as being easy on the eye, there's an enviable list of amenities at guests' disposal. Many of these lie outside, including the heated saltwater swimming pool and Jacuzzi surrounded by loungers, plus the covered outdoor kitchen with a barbecue and dining table. However, there's plenty more to be discovered inside, not least the gym, massage room and sauna that can be found on the ground level.

This comfortable apartment is situated in the historic coastal town of Giardini Naxos, and it benefits from having a sea-facing balcony. The beach is located directly opposite the home’s main entrance and the surrounding area offers plenty of local shops and restaurants. At full capacity you may feel a tad squeezed here – we think that the place is best suited for a couple. Bear in mind that the pad is situated on the third floor with no lift.

Comprising a two-storey house with an annex, it’s a great option for a group of families or friends who want their own private space while on holiday together. We love the added extras here, like the Jacuzzi in the master bedroom and the private sauna, as well as the mountain views from many of the bedrooms. We recommend you hire a car for easy access to the beaches of Fondachello and Giardini Naxos, and the fishing villages on the Cyclops Riviera.

The interior design mixes rustic features, such as patches of exposed stonework and the villa's old wine press, with more contemporary flashes – the minimalist kitchen and whitewashed bedrooms are a case in point. We also like that the split between the main villa, guest house and suite offers a degree of welcome flexibility for larger groups.

When it comes to seeing a little more of the island, the first port of call has to be the stretch of beach that sits directly opposite the home. Beyond that, there are restaurants and bars a short walk away in the coastal town of Letojanni, plus the port city of Catania lies well within reach for a day trip.



A Stirring Spectacle

This historic home, which dates back to 1900, enjoys both the tranquillity of its residential setting and close proximity to Taormina's centre and its many sights. A short ride on the cable car will also take you to the beach. Spread across two floors, you’ll need to climb some stairs here, but once upstairs you’ll be rewarded with stunning views from the two private terraces. There’s enough space here for a large family or a group of friends, and the place is also well-equipped to accommodate children. Pop open a bottle of Marsala and relax on the terrace, taking in the views of the bay.

You’ll also be serenaded by stunning views as well as a range of a luxurious home comforts – including a concierge service offering sweet extras like a private chef and catering. Step inside, and you’re met with traditional Sicilian decor that mixes seamlessly with modern touches, such as the big screen in the living room, perfect for movie nights. Sun worshipers will love the outdoor space. Whether you’re drinking in the distant sea views from the balcony, relaxing on the terrace, or swimming in the private pool, this villa makes the most of the Mediterranean climate.

You’ll find this apartment located between Giardini Naxos and Taormina, only 20 meters from a part sandy, part gravel beach. The home is situated on the 3rd floor and features a living area with comfortable seating and a kitchen corner with everything you need for rustling up Sicilian-inspired meals. If you’d prefer to eat out, there’s a restaurant just 50 metres away. The best bit? The sea view terrace. Especially at sundown with a tipple in hand.

Inside, we’d say the interiors lack a bit of character and personality, but with so much to explore nearby, you’ll probably be out and about more. Visit nearby Mount Etna and the Alcantara canyons, or just 2 kilometres away, you’ll find the hilltop town of Taormina, with its Greco-Roman theatre or spend the day on the beach closeby (1.5 kilometres away).

The property boasts a stunning view over the surrounding landscape, Mount Etna and the Ionian Sea. It features great amenities such as a salt-water swimming pool and an outdoor kitchen area – ideal for alfresco dining with your loved ones. The home is within easy reach of several seaside towns such as Santa Teresa di Riva and Sant'Alessio, as well as the impressive Alcantara Gorges.

Nestled inside a tranquil community on the slopes of Mount Etna, this handsome villa makes for a great place to base yourself while visiting this part of Sicily. Just a short drive from Taormina and the surrounding beaches, you’ll be well-connected while at the same time enjoying the perks of the home’s rural setting. We are particularly impressed by the outdoor areas, which feature a pool set amidst a landscape garden and plenty of space for catching the rays and enjoying alfresco feasts. The views are also pretty stunning and can be enjoyed both from inside and from the garden and terrace. 

The Blue Hills

Nestled rather picturesquely on the side of a hill which slopes right into the Ionian Sea, this cosy apartment is situated in the ancient town of Riposto. While compact in size, the place benefits from a large private garden where you’ll be able to enjoy alfresco meals and soak up the sun – you’ll also have direct access to the sea. Note that you’ll be sharing the building with the guests of the upstairs apartment – this being said, we think this pad makes for a great base for a couple or a small family on a Sicilian getaway. 

Serenity at Sea

Situated in the ancient town of Riposto, in the shadow of Mount Etna, this compact apartment enjoys the benefits of a private garden which offers stunning sea views. You’ll be able to enjoy your meals out here,  and later, you can stroll directly to the water’s edge. Due to its size, we think this home is best suited for couples or a small family – note that there’s a second apartment in the building so privacy might be compromised at times. 

Sultry Sunsets

Tucked away in the hills of Mascali, this contemporary home opens its doors to the natural beauty of Sicily. From here, you can admire the views while relaxing by the saltwater pool. There is also a shaded terrace with a barbecue – perfect for balmy evening meals. Inside, the rooms are simple, fresh and family-friendly with children’s amenities available on request. Your host is also on hand to help organise a range of extra services – including private chefs and beauty treatments. We recommend hiring a car to get around here, but it’s just 3 kilometres to the nearest beach, while Taormina is just 20 kilometres away.

This apartment on the eastern edge of Sicily between Riposto and Acireale is a real feast for the eyes. Not only is the building in which it sits painted a vivid shade of pink that's instantly mood-lifting, but it also faces a gorgeous view of the Ionian Sea in one direction and Mount Etna the other way.

You can admire this panorama from the two terraces surrounded by verdant Mediterranean vegetation and palm trees, or out through the wooden windows. Although the interior can't hope to compete with these surroundings, the mix of rustic features and colourful flourishes are pleasing to be among. The patterned tiling in the kitchen and bathrooms is pretty, while the wooden furnishings and terracotta tilings add a real sense of homeliness.

As you can see from gazing out over the terrace, there's a pebbly beach that's easily reached from the home, but the nearest sandy spot is in Riposto six minutes' drive up the coastline. The port city of Catania is only thirty-five minutes away in the car too when you fancy a wander around the grand architecture and a meal in one of its seafood restaurants.
