Perched on a cliffside on the edge of Monte Argentario, the sunset views from this home are sublime. From the dining table on the terrace, you can gaze out over the sea and there are plenty of seating nooks in the shade. The real highlight is the private staircase leading down the cliffside to a rocky swim platform set up with loungers and parasols. Just remember, it’s quite a climb back up to the villa. The living room is huge, so big groups will feel at home here, and a wall of windows shows off the sea view inside. Tiles in the bathrooms might be a little garish for some, but who cares when the outside space comes with that view.  

As Free As The Sea

You have your pick of three sun-soaked terraces at this home in Porto Santo Stefano – two of which have stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Tuscany coastline. Split across two floors, and with two living rooms, there's plenty of space for large groups to spread out (and admire the unique art pieces adorning the walls). For alfresco dinners, light up the barbecue – or take the short walk into town, where restaurants and gelaterias line the seafront. From Porto Santo Stefano, take a boat trip to the picturesque Giglio island, where you can try its famous wines – bring a bottle back to sip on the terrace as the sun sets.

Set on the stunning coast of Tuscany in Porto Ercole, this luxury villa is positioned between sixteenth-century Spanish Fortresses. From the get-go, you'll be blown away by the natural beauty that presents itself all around you. Prepare to be wowed by the perfectly manicured, blooming garden filled with flowers and Mediterranean charm, as well as the breathtaking sea that looks out over the Mediterranean Sea and the Southern Tuscan coast. 

The garden and terrace is probably where most of the action will take place, as here you'll find the cobalt pool with salted water, an array of sunbeds, and the sweet sound of the waves lapping into the shore in the distance. Enjoy alfresco meals from the elevated terrace area while taking in the magnificent vistas as the sun sets before you. We love the traditional Tuscan colour scheme featured on the sheltered terrace with terracotta tiles alongside pops of green through plants, window shutters and furniture cushions. Then, through the curved arch and into the house for more elegant design details and classic Tuscan style. 

When you can tear yourself away from the beauty of it all, take a walk in the heart of the historic old town along the tiny streets and small squares that overlook the sea. Just minutes away on foot from Porto Ercole, recognized as one of Italy's most beautiful historic villages – discover the many restaurants, shops, and bars that rest within easy reach. Why not rent a boat from the harbour and head out to explore the hidden beaches? Or play a round at Argentario Golf Resort & Spa, five minutes away from the villa.


Terracotta Curves

This villa captures the rustic charm of old Italy. Surrounded by 40 hectares of land boasting olive groves, vineyards, orchards, and meadows with grazing horses, it’s an idyllic escape into the Tuscan countryside. A country road leads to the UNESCO hamlet of Castiglione d'Orcia. The garden is home to a rustic outdoor cooking station, a large, shaded table, and a full outdoor lounge. There’s a touch of modernity to the private, heated pool and you’ll find a sauna hidden amid the trees. The main villa is split across two levels and is a vision of old-world Italy and there is a separate annexe with further bedrooms, a second full kitchen and an open-plan living room. 

Rusticana Retreat

We think this unique home has the wow factor in spades, offering you a taste of traditional Italian style combined with elegant accents and mod-cons – not to mention its own distinctive character which really sets it apart. Clearly, we're not alone in our thinking, as the tower was recently used for the filming of the James Bond film 'Quantum of Solace' — well, if it's good enough for Mr Bond, it's certainly enough to get us shaken and stirred. 

Boasting an unforgettable location perched atop a dramatically descending cliff that overlooks the Maremma, this one-time watch tower has been tastefully restored in such a way that is sensitive and appreciative of its past, creating an atmosphere that feels both special and timeless. You need only to set foot on its beautiful terraces to feel the true magic of this place. 

Gaze out over the glittering waters, admiring the islands of Argentario, Giglio & Montecristo or take the short stroll down the semi-private walkway that leads directly to the shoreline and a rock platform beach shared with just one other villa. We loved nothing more than ambling along the path toward the clear waters before finding a comfortable spot to sit with a packed lunch of Italian meats and cheeses – the perfect accompaniment to the idyllic setting.

From alfresco dining to coastal walks and irresistible gastronomical experiences in the picturesque towns and villages that dot the landscape, this home is perfect for those in search of the real 'dolce vita'.  

Atop a Tuscan Tower

This panoramic property is all about marmalade sunsets, sea vistas and spending your days outdoors, soaking up the sunshine. A delicate blend of traditional charm and modern convenience with multiple hangout and dining areas inside and out, this property makes a great choice for groups of friends and families alike. You'll find the charming towns of Porto Santo and Porto Ercole, and the island of Giglio nearby. Beach hop among the various sandy stretches or take your time discovering the coves of Argentario.

All of the bedrooms come with en-suite bathrooms for optimum privacy and there’s an office room for remote workers. And when it comes to explorations, you can follow the path down to the rocky shore, hire a boat in nearby Porto Ercole or adventure to Porto San Stefano and Orbetello.

Horizon of Wonder

This breathtaking villa a short distance from Porto Ercole caught our attention for its peaceful setting and glittering sea views. Just a short drive from the harbour and historic old town, it strikes a balance between seclusion and being close to everything you need. You’ll find plenty of room to unwind, from the shady garden and sea-facing pool to the elegant outdoor lounge areas. Inside, the home is thoughtfully furnished with a warm, rustic touch that’s true to traditional Tuscany. While you’ll need a car to get around, private parking is provided – and trust us, the views alone are worth the drive.

Sea View Villa

Nestled on a rocky peninsula in Monte Argentario, this home is an ideal base for those keen to be close to the Tuscan coast. As a ground-floor apartment in a villa with three apartments in the main house and a guest cottage, expect to see other guests during your stay. There’s no swimming pool here, but you can take steps down from the garden to a rocky beach, so you’ll be splashing in the sea in no time. And, of course, thanks to the home’s enviable location, you can enjoy sea views from almost every corner. Keen to explore locally? A trip to Porto Santo Stefano, just two kilometres away, is a must. 

Bougainvillea & Pine

Tucked within seventy hectares of countryside and surrounded by countless rows of olive groves and cypress trees, this charming Tuscan estate is the picture of rural tranquillity. Split into the main house and an independent annexe, the address has retained plenty of its original features – wooden beams, an open-hearth fireplace, stone floors and antique furniture give guests a sense of history. Start your day by pushing open the French doors in the living room and looking out over the neighbouring hills before sharing breakfast in the charming kitchen. 

Stepping outside, the home’s beautiful garden is an ideal sunbathing spot, while the sparkling swimming pool is perfect for cooling off from the midday heat. Find a cosy corner amid the plants to enjoy a cocktail at sundown, then head to the pergola, where an elegant dining table promises an unforgettable alfresco experience. If you can bear to leave your manor, the pretty town of Montepulciano is a short ten-minute drive away. Walk its winding streets and try the rare Vino Noble wine the region is so famous for.

Aglio e Olio

With its sunny swimming pool, gorgeous views, and country charm, we think you’ll love life in this Umbrian villa. There are shady terraces to relax with a book or enjoy a leisurely lunch, cosy and characterful rooms, and a farmhouse kitchen for turning regional fare into an Italian feast. The main house has four double bedrooms, and if eight or more of you are staying, you’ll also have access to a separate converted barn and cottage where there are two extra bedrooms. As for amenities, nearby Città della Pieve has restaurants and bars for entertaining evenings, and you’ll also be in one of the best spots for sampling local wines at one of the area’s prestigious wineries.

A Painted Place

Boasting a unique position, this villa, built into the cliffs of Cala Piccola, is perfect for a family getaway to the coast. Thanks to it's location, the sea and Tuscan landscape stretches on the horizon and can be admired from the private swimming pool or any of the balconies and terrace seating areas. Though wi-fi isn't available here, you'll still have plenty to occupy yourself. Several scenic points are within walking distance for those who appreciate nature, and the steps leading from the villa and directly to the sea is a dream for beach lovers.
