You’ll have the best views of the city and rural landscapes from this ancient hilltop, and you'll be a 25-minute drive from the city centre. Based in the dreamy city of Lucca which sits on the Serchio river in Tuscany, explore its Renaissance buildings and cobblestone streets. Staying true to its roots, the palatial home – built in the 1500s – has a wood-burning pizza oven, outdoor kitchen and barbecue, private courtyard, and infinity pool. Cook together in the modern kitchen and dine on the sheltered terrace or at the grand dining table inside. Relax together under beautiful wooden beams, surrounded by exposed brick walls and fireplaces. Each bedroom has an elegant, understated character, an en-suite, and stunning views. For glorious walks, explore the hamlet of Pescaglia and its olive groves.

Kings & Queens

This rustic yet refined farmhouse surrounded by Tuscan countryside makes for a restful stay indeed. The interiors are as charming as you would expect – think carved fireplaces, wooden-beamed ceilings and traditional terracotta floors. Outside, the furnished terrace is the perfect place to soak up the sunshine with a glass of wine in hand. Although there isn’t a swimming pool here, there are 50 hectares of grounds to explore and the sandy beaches of Lido di Camaiore are no more than a twenty-minute drive away. 

A Year of Birdsong

Travel down the cypress-lined driveway of this home, surrounded by a centuries-old olive grove, and just take in the unfolding backdrop of the picturesque hills. We love the setting –it’s typically Tuscan. You can admire the stunning views from the terrace or the infinity-style private pool and revel in the tranquillity. Inside, you can enjoy more vistas from the split-level living and dining room, as well as from the bedrooms. Location-wise, you’ll find plenty of countryside walks on your doorstep, and the Etruscan Coast is also reachable by car.

Tuscan Valley Views

Enchanting doesn't even begin to describe this old farmhouse in the heart of Tuscany. At first glance, we were captivated by the apple red shutters, ivy-clad stone walls and serene country setting, but once we stepped inside, we fell even more in love with the romantic, welcoming and rustic interior. Wooden ceilings adorned with beams, traditional antique furniture, elegant bedrooms – this home has charm in abundance, and, what's more, there's plenty of space to spread out and get comfortable. 

Our favourite part was the pretty garden. Day or night, the beautiful views across the hills paint the perfect backdrop for your stay. Dig into alfresco meals underneath the shady pergola and savour a glass of wine as the day slowly fades on the outdoor sofa – your host leaves a local bottle of vino, fresh flowers and a cake for you to enjoy. Once the chill sets in, gather around the brick fire pit and enjoy a laughter-packed evening underneath the starry sky.

This home is within easy reach of Florence (thirty-five minutes), Siena (fifty minutes) or San Gimignano (forty minutes) when you fancy a change of scenery. Although there aren't a lot of eateries within walking distance, there are picturesque hiking and biking routes to explore and Poppiano Castle – now a vineyard and winery – is just a short stroll away.

Vintage Vines

Located in the countryside just outside of Lucca, guests staying at this Tuscan villa are treated to views of the old town, rolling fields and the Mediterranean Sea in the distance. As you can imagine, it's a truly idyllic location and what's perhaps most impressive is that the home is just as easy on the eye, too.

The main portion of the home sits within a villa that dates back to the 15th century and you get a sense of this history with the high ceilings, large fireplaces and wooden beams. There's also a real sense of grandeur when it comes to the interior design — you only have to look at the chandeliers, artworks and lavish dining areas to see what we mean. This opulence can be witnessed in the pool house and suite house, as well.

Stepping outside, there are plenty of terraces, verandahs and lounges out on the lawns populated by olive trees and flowers where you can sit and admire the scenery. That being said, the views are equally as dreamy from the home's swimming pool, too.

When you can prise yourself away from this tranquil address, you can hop in the car and be wandering the historic streets of Lucca in a little over ten minutes, while the Italian coastline takes around thirty-five minutes to reach.


Latin Love Letters

Ideal for outdoor enthusiasts, this beautiful home is located in the serene hills of Lucca. The outside space is breathtaking, with a vine-draped alfresco dining area and comfortable seats in the shade of centuries-old trees. A private heated swimming pool sits on a lawned terrace, offering stunning valley views. Double doors lead from one terrace to the modern kitchen – this wonderfully restored villa blends traditional Tuscan features with colourful art and contemporary comforts. This home is spread between the main villa and a smaller guesthouse, making it a great choice for several families travelling together. 

Sun & Cypress

Surrounded by Tuscan countryside, this home has a private swimming pool, open all year round, set in a garden fringed by bamboo. There’s a large, shaded dining terrace to enjoy the warm Italian summers as well. Inside, this traditionally styled, three-storey house has plenty of room for family and friends with a living area and sitting room. Situated just 1 kilometre from Camaiore, there’s plenty to see and do. Or visit the medieval city of Lucca, around a thirty-minute drive away.


Emerald Forest

Picture peaceful moments on your private terrace, overlooking forest-topped hills. Or lounging beside the pretty shared pool in the Tuscan sunshine. This scenic apartment is petite yet perfectly charming, packing plenty of character into a small space. There’s a rustic kitchen for home-cooked meals, a cosy lounge, and a bedroom where you can wake up to views of those picturesque hills. Outside, you’ll find the communal pool – perfect for a refreshing dip. We love this home for a romantic retreat or solo getaway, in a tiny village that remains satisfyingly serene even in summer. It's day-trip distance from Lucca too – a fairy tale town where you can stroll or cycle the old city walls.

Stone Dreams

Prepare to be swept off your feat at this beautiful Italian home, deep in the rolling hills of Tuscany. Once a farmhouse, the plot has been transformed into something poetic - we could write sonnets about the wooden beams, paved floors, and plush cream furniture. Central to the home, the living space is a cool mix of whites, statement glass chandeliers, and big potted plants, while outside, wicker garden furniture is backdropped by mountain views. There's a similarly romantic theme in the bedrooms - with added nods to Italian history. Look out for the prints of famous sculptures in the twin room, while coats of arms and velvet blue headboards hint at something more regal in one of the doubles. Vineyards and cute Tuscan towns are only short drives - with goodies bought best enjoyed watching the sunset from the home's veranda.

La Romanza

With hosts who actually produce their own virgin olive oil, this stately villa simply radiates authenticity. The home is comprised of three individual stone cottages perched on the Tuscan hillside, located in the pretty village of Ciciana. You’ll be surrounded by the vast, untouched countryside – hiking trails nearby will acquaint you with local farm animals and horses. At the centre of the home is a pristine saltwater infinity pool, benefitting from panoramic views of the surrounding green plains and the medieval town of Lucca below. This home encourages outdoor living, with charming dining areas dotted around the garden – our favourite being the idyllic little lavender-draped corner, boasting stunning views down the hill. Dine al fresco long into the balmy summer evenings with a much larger eating space on the shaded terrace, equipped with reclining wooden chairs, an outdoor kitchen, and a barbecue. Tear apart the focaccia and devour a chilled glass of vino, socialising and playing games while the meat sizzles away. When you’re not indulging in the local delicacies, explore the cobblestone streets of Lucca at your feet, just a short drive down.

Located in a private estate, this apartment blends traditional charm and modernity to bring you an unforgettable stay. Outside, you can enjoy stunning views while lounging by the shared pool. There’s also an outdoor bar area and a private terrace for your morning coffee and evening drinks. Inside, the rooms provide a simple and refreshing space with all the basics you could need to make it your own. And when it comes to adventures further afield, you’ll be within easy reach of the nearest amenities in Montaione, while San Gimignano and Volterra are also within easy driving distance. 

Tuscan Love

Situated in the hills of the Province of Parma, this historic home is an idyllic spot for nature lovers looking for relaxation. There’s a private swimming pool among the fruit trees and a large patio terrace featuring a dining table and outdoor lounge, where you can spend lazy afternoons with a spritz and a good book. Meanwhile, the interiors blend original features with modern home comforts. Although the decor feels dated in places and may not be to everyone's taste, the style is in keeping with the area’s rich heritage.
