If you’ve always wondered what it must have been like to live in Venice as one of the finest families under the rule of the Doge, this apartment is the holiday home for you. It sits in Fondamenta San Giacomo in Guidecca and boasts incredible panoramic views of Venice, with an interior that’s a marvel. 

You’ll find ceiling frescoes and tapestries, in addition to a stunning Murano chandelier in the living room. Every nook and cranny has a curio to admire, or artwork to behold. From the glass writing desk, you can see the lagoon below – just imagine how many stories this home has inspired over the years. 

The view takes in Canal della Guidecca, San Marco and over to the Doge’s Palace and beyond, from the charmed position of the authentically Venetian neighbourhood of Guidecca. You won’t be overrun by tourist groups – it’s a local’s area, with food shops and top-notch restaurants on your doorstep. 

When you’re ready to see the sights, you need only hop onto a Vaporetto from the stop 30m from the apartment. Mere moments later you’ll be sipping coffee in Piazza San Marco, or strolling over the Academia Bridge to take in that postcard-worthy view. Wander the narrow streets with a gelato while you ponder where to dine, or shop for jewellery on the Rialto Bridge. You can meander back to the apartment in less than thirty minutes, ready to breathe in the views again.

We love the vistas of the Giudecca Canal, Giudecca Island, and the Redentore Church from this home’s windows. Unusual for Venice, there’s a good-sized shared garden to enjoy too. Lovers of design classics will be glad to know there are a few gems here such as the Saarinen Tulip dining table and Murano glass chandeliers. The location is great too – it’s only a two-minute stroll to the Basilica della Salute and the Guggenheim Collection, while Accademia Bridge, one of only four bridges to span the Grand Canal, is five minutes on foot.

Colourful and quirky, this apartment offers an authentic escape to Venice. It’s in the Giudecca district, away from the tourist crowds, but within easy reach of all the attractions. A waterbus stop is just 50 metres away, ready to whisk you to San Marco Square in five minutes. Three windows in the living room look out onto the bell tower of San Marco, Palazzo Ducale, and the canal. The apartment is oh-so-cool and has everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay. At full occupancy, three guests will share bedroom one, with one guest on a sofa bed – we think this is most suitable for a child. There are cafes and restaurants on your doorstep, but you can cook in the contemporary kitchen if you fancy it.

Get a taste of authentic Venice at this minimalist apartment on laidback Giudecca. St Marks Square is a ten-minute water taxi ride away and some of the city’s most beautiful (and least-visited) churches are nearby in the Chiesa di Santa Maria and San Giorgio Maggiore. Inside the home, the furnishing is functional but comfortable, with a sofa bed if you’re travelling with an extra guest. Our favourite part? The views overlooking the canal – especially at dusk.

This beautiful apartment can be found at the heart of Venice, just a few steps from iconic St Mark’s Square. It couldn’t be in a more convenient location, yet it’s also slightly tucked out of the way of the crowds so the apartment itself is peaceful. 

Stepping inside feels like stepping back in time, to an age of grandeur and elegance. Antique furniture sets the scene, while all modern amenities have been carefully added – the restoration of this home was a labour of love. 

The jewel in the crown of this sumptuous home is the splendid terrace. After a day of seeing the sights, it’s utterly delightful to sit out on the terrace sipping wine and eating antipasti. Even better, there’s a sun deck accessible from the terrace where you can lie out and sunbathe all from your central Venice home. 

Of course, you’re in the city to see the sights, and this is the perfect base for it. The Giglio waterbus stop is eight minutes away, so you can zip around the canals easily. It’s a twelve-minute journey to the Accademia di Belle Arti, which houses some of the finest art in Italy. St Mark’s Square is less than a minute away on foot – it’s the perfect place for a pre-dinner cocktail.

Experience the best of the Floating City from this gorgeous canalside Cannaregio apartment. Impeccably decorated in typically Venetian style, expect stunning period features, elegant furnishings and the occasional antique piece within its 16th-century walls.

In addition to the calming forest green colour scheme and tall windows that invite plenty of natural light in, we particularly loved the ingenious secret door leading to the en suite bathroom.

Your third-floor vantage point offers views over a buzzing piazza and imposing clock tower to one side and an elevated vantage point over a canal to the other. Venice is unusual in that there's no car traffic here. Instead, you can open up the windows and take in the many traditional sounds of the city, including church bells, bustling street markets, and gondoliers singing as they cruise by.

The location is ideal – not even five minutes from Rialto bridge, so you won't have to lug your bags too far, while the likes of St Mark's Square and the characterful streets of the Jewish Quarter are approximately ten minutes on foot.

When you're not out exploring, your host has provided some stunning coffee table books so you can appreciate the city through a photographer's lens and perhaps pick up a few pointers to elevate your usual holiday snaps.

This lovely apartment can be found in a quiet part of Venice, tucked away from the crowds of tourists in an authentic neighbourhood. You’ll get to live as Venetians do – but you’re also within a short stroll of all the major sights so you really get the best of both worlds.

Saint Mark’s Square is a thirteen-minute walk from the apartment, where you can admire the architecture as you sip coffee. A leisurely twenty-five-minute wander will take you to Ponte dell’Accademia, which boasts one of the most spectacular views of the Grand Canal. There are plenty of charming osterias and bars close to home, so you’re never far from your next great meal or glass of wine. 

The apartment is calm and quiet, with antique features like the wood-beamed ceilings to remind you of the history of the building, and the city beyond the windows. Antique styling adds to the refined feel of the home – you’ll live like the grand old families of Venice used to. 


Gilt Edges 

This apartment is situated in an excellent spot for exploring Venice. Piazza San Marco, Rialto Bridge, and Campo San Giovanni e Paolo are all a short walk away. The historic building even has its own bridge over the canal, so you'll only need to open the windows to admire the gondolas passing by. As far as design, it's super stylish. We love the mix of old and new, as well as the patterned wallpaper in the bedrooms. Two guests will sleep on a sofa bed, but in such a central location, that's a decent compromise.

As Gondolas Float By

In a city with so many incredible accommodation options, you'll know that you made the right choice from the moment you lay your eyes on the jaw-dropping 360-degree views from the rooftop. With Marco Polo Airport and the Dolomites to the North and every tower and rooftop in Venice immediately surrounding you – it's even better than the photos. We'd encourage at least one early morning wake-up call to take in the changing colours as the sun rises, while a sunset Prosecco goes down a treat at the end of a long day of exploring. Once you've disembarked the water taxi and climbed the stairs to the front door, you'll be greeted by a seamless mix of original features and contemporary design. The interior offers an irresistible blend of exposed beams, ornate antique furniture and intricate wood mosaic flooring alongside a Scandinavian-inspired kitchen and modern artwork. The standout feature is, of course, the two outdoor terraces and accompanying views. There's ample outdoor seating so that you can pick a different spot for each meal. Then, having viewed the city from above, it's time to step out on the streets. You're conveniently close to some of Venice's headline highlights – St. Mark's Basilica and adjoining piazza are just a three-minute walk. At the same time, you're only 275m from Rialto Bridge, plus there's a supermarket and plenty of great restaurants and shops right on your doorstep.


Where Birds Fly

We love the vistas of Venice from this apartment. You can see a large number of sights without leaving home – how amazing is that? From the Bacino San Marco and the Lido, to San Servolo, and San Lazzaro degli Armeni, it's all there waiting to be admired. But that's not all – you can also see San Giorgio, the Punta Della Dogana and the beginning of the Grand Canal and more. We can imagine experiencing the Redentore Festival and New Year's Eve here, watching the wonderful show of boats and fireworks on the lagoon. 

This place is great for entertaining – there are two large sofas to accommodate everyone easily in the living room. The space has traditional terrazzo floors and prints depicting Venetian scenery. Or head to the library and read a book if you want some peace and quiet.

This apartment's location is excellent as well. St Mark's Square is just 500 metres away, so why not explore this iconic sight and then stop off for a coffee and some cake at one of its cafes? There's a water taxi stop 100 metres away, too, for when you want to discover more of this city's gems.

Amidst the historic streets of Venice, this apartment makes it easy to explore the iconic sights of the floating city. It’s a short stroll to galleries, Basilicas and local restaurants. Plus, you’ll find easy access to the canals for boat trips and your host is on hand to help organise a range of extras – including guided tours and airport transfers. Back at home, you’ll have access to a private terrace for sunset drinks. Inside, the open-plan living room is perfectly suited to couples and solo travellers, while the bedroom makes it easy to switch off after a day of exploring.

Admire the stunning vistas from the Biennale Gardens to St Mark's Square from this special home's terrace – we were lost for words when we visited. You can see so much of Venice without leaving this spot. There's a list of sights as long as your arm – we're talking Bacino San Marco, the Lido, San Servolo, San Lazzaro degli Armeni, and San Giorgio, which hosts Fondazione Cini. Hold on – we have to catch our breath – ok, you can also see the Compagnia della Vela and Giudecca, as well as Punta Della Dogana, the beginning of the Grand Canal and more. 

During the Redentore Festival and New Year's Eve, you can watch the wonderful show of boats and fireworks on the lagoon – this place is truly unique. That's not all of the outdoor space – there's a lovely vine-covered terrace at the back, too.

Inside, you'll find polished wood floors and characterful beams, as well as more of those fabulous views from the living room. We love that the bedroom opens out onto the terrace – perfect for morning coffees. Just note that the bathroom has low ceilings.

This apartment's location is fantastic, too. Nearby, a water taxi stop and the Vaporetto stop "Arsenale" will take you to Piazzale Roma, Santa Lucia train station, Rialto Bridge and Marco Polo Airport. For everyday essentials, there's a well-stocked supermarket, a five-minute walk from this incredible home.

Discover a haven of tranquillity in this beautifully designed apartment set within a 15th-century palazzo. We love the mix of character details and contemporary touches, from the marble mantelpiece to the mural inspired by Venetian gardens. It has all the essentials to settle in nicely, too – comfortable beds, a full kitchen, and a duo of bathrooms. Topping it all off is the fantastic location. You'll be in the heart of Venice here, just a fifteen-minute stroll from St Mark's Square, Doge's Palace, and the Bridge of Sighs.

This amazing home is located over Venice’s Grand Canal, situated in a candy-pink Gothic ‘palazzetto’. Sharing this length of water with the sixteenth-century Palazzo Vendramin Calergi – which was the final home of composer Richard Wagner and now the Casino of Venice – this unique home offers incredible views of the waters from your living space and even one of the bedrooms, so you can start every day with that beautiful picture. 

You will enter the home via a private entrance on the Campiello del Remer – Little Square of the Rower – which is hidden from the hubbub of San Leonardo but close enough to the action to experience everything Venice has to offer. 

Your living space offers comfortable sofas with a view out to the Canal below. Plus, the partially-covered south-facing terrace features a bistro table where you can sip your morning espresso or enjoy an authentic gelato overlooking the glittering waters of the Grand Canal, and admiring the vista which extends from Ferrovia, the Scalzi and the Church of San Geremia to the right, across to the Fondaco Dei Turchi – Venice’s Natural History Museum – and to the Rialto to the left.

Stroll to the Jewish Ghetto – just a five-minute walk away – with its towering buildings, museum and rich history, or join the bustle of Rio Terà San Leonardo – just two minutes away on foot – where you will find plenty of shops and food stalls. Plus, from here you will also be able to see the Ponte delle Guglie, a historical canal bridge guarded by gargoyles.

For gondola rides, we recommend walking seven minutes to Cannaregio Canal – where there are plenty of boats to hop onto – and enjoying a trip down a different stretch of waters than the ones you’ve been admiring every morning. With sublime views and a central location that is within walking distance of Venice’s sights, this home offers it all.

Now, this is a place where you can really spoil yourself and your family or friends. The private terrace right on the Grand Canal is stunning – admire the views of the Basilica della Salute, Punta della Dogana and San Giorgio Maggiore from both here and inside. You’d think that the outdoor space was the main highlight, but inside the interiors are something else too. It’s almost museum-like in parts with its lion statues and oil paintings. Add into the mix this former palazzo’s location (it’s a two-minute stroll from St. Mark's Square) and you have a very special home indeed.

This colourful apartment in the heart of Venice is ideal for sharing among couples. Its interior is a tad dated, yet charming, and worth noting is that it’s located on the second floor with steps only. Having said that – we’re sure you’ll be busy sightseeing in a city as unique as this one, with some of its most famous landmarks, such as San Marco Square and the Rialto Bridge, within walking distance. Venetian Dream

Give loft-style living a whirl at this high-style Venice apartment set in the characterful design district. Perched next to the leafy gardens of the Biennal and just a twenty-minute passeggiata along the Riva degli Schiavoni to St. Mark's Square, the location is spot on. And when it's time to say adieu, getting to the airport is a breeze, with the waterbus just a two-minute stroll from your door.

Back home, while the old bones of this characterful home remain with its lofty roof gables and exposed stonework, everywhere else has been expertly reimagined to create a sleek city bolthole. We're into the muted monochrome palette and oh-so-Italian terrazzo floors of the main bedroom suite with a dressing room. And tucked away in the eaves up a flight of stairs, there are two cosy single-bedroom nooks – perfect for teenagers or friends sharing. While back downstairs in the living space, there's everything you could need to rustle up a light bite to eat in the smart, newly-refurbished kitchen. Though with charming tavernas and wine bars just a hop, skip, and a jump away, we wouldn't blame you for eating out each night instead.  

A Thousand Bridges

Hidden behind a medieval garden wall but right next to a Venetian promenade, this home is a secret retreat in the heart of the city. We particularly love the traditional Italian charm of the living room, which invites in plenty of natural light – although the kitchen is on the smaller side, we suggest dining out. Found in Venice's hip Dorsoduro district, there are plenty of bars and restaurants within easy reach here. However, with that courtyard, you might want to spend more time at home – we think it's a perfect spot for afternoon drinks after a morning exploring the nearby museums, galleries and churches. 

The Classic Flamingo

Sitting on the Rio dei Carmini Canal, this apartment is all about its breathtaking views. A small balcony lets you take in the stunning scenery with the canal right below you, best enjoyed – we think – with a glass of Italian wine. The minimalist decor certainly lets the views do the talking here, and you’ll need to tackle quite a few steps upon leaving the lift and once inside the home itself. But with dreamy postcard-perfect windows and a location that puts you a five-minute stroll from the Gallerie dell'Accademia, this home ticks a lot of boxes for a memorable Venetian stay.  


Blue Velvet Dreams

This attractive apartment is just a few minutes from the iconic Ponte dell’Accademia, where you can enjoy one of the best views in Venice. You’ll also be close to the Rialto Bridge. The apartment is comfortable and stylish, with charming wallpaper and exposed wooden beams. The kitchen window looks out onto Venetian rooftops; you can cook for yourself when you don’t fancy dining out in the cafes and restaurants nearby. This home has plenty of room for four and is well-suited to long-term stays.

Brimming with Venetian charm, this restored, high-beamed apartment is an idyllic place to call home during a trip to Venice. Located right in the heart of the city, moments from the Grand Canal, you can unwind sumptuously in between your cultural endeavours.

The kitchen is equipped with everything you could need to prepare your favourite Italian specialities -  including a Bialetti moka pot for a superior caffeinated experience in the mornings. In the evenings, enjoy culinary feasts at the sleek dining table, accompanied by a cold glass of Lison and the hum of the city just outside your window. When it's time to unwind, climb the stunning suspended staircase up to your slice of calm and sink into the sheets ready to explore the city another day. 

It's easy to tick off your sightseeing list from here, as many of the city's most iconic attractions are close by. Walk to Domenico Rossi’s 11th-Century San Stae in just six minutes, before wandering to Ca' Pesaro International Gallery of Modern Art – it's just two minutes from there. And, if you want to explore the city via water taxi, then hop on a boat at the San Stae stop - our favourite way to see Venice. 

High Beam

A perfect mix of elegance and warmth, this classic-contemporary apartment offers comfortable living in the heart of Venice’s Dorsoduro district. We loved the dark wood floors, oak ceiling beams, rich red accents and wrought iron details. There’s a spacious living area for regrouping before dinner plans and a cosy mezzanine level for enjoying quiet moments with a good book. If you’re a fan of cooking, the fully-equipped kitchen has everything you need for putting together Italian-inspired dishes but when you fancy hanging up your chef’s apron, head over to Al Profeta, a lovely pizzeria, only a ten-minute walk from your doorstep.

The famous Piazza San Marco is an eight-minute water bus ride away. Get your culture fix at the Basilica and Museo Correr before drifting along the Grand Canal on a gondola. Stop for an aperitivo in one of Venice’s glitzy rooftop bars or go for a more informal setting at Osteria All’Arco, a local favourite next to the Rialto Bridge.

The Last Romantic

This charming apartment boasts a rare feature that sets it – quite literally – above the rest. Climb the stairs from the third bedroom and arrive on the roof terrace, from which you can devour a magnificent view of Venice’s skyline, including St Mark’s Campanile. Because of this terrace, this home isn’t suitable for children under the age of 6, but it’s ideal for families with older children, and for groups of friends. It’s in a peaceful setting in the refined parish of San Samuele, close to all of Venice’s main sights, including the Grand Canal.

This impressive apartment in the heart of Cannaregio caught our eye for all the right reasons. This 15th-century canal-side palazzo has been designed by architect Alberto Torsello and the interior design team Zanon Associati to create a slice of Venetian paradise. Terrazzo floors, colourful frescoes and Soffitto a Cassettoni wooden ceilings are just a few of the luxurious finishings here, and the amenities are as functional as they are beautiful. Unwinding as a group feels particularly decadent, especially with a glass of Garganega wine in hand. And with a central location just moments from the Rio di Santa Fosca and Rio del Trapolin canals, you couldn’t be better placed for a Venice stay.

Venetian Sunset

This Venetian home has a gem of a location in the Arsenal district of Venice, which houses the Naval History Museum. It’s just a five-minute walk to the Biennale Gardens, an area created by Napoleon at the beginning of the nineteenth century, while St Mark’s Square and the Rialto Bridge are just fifteen minutes on foot. If you prefer to use the water bus, there’s a Vaporetto stop located a few steps away from the apartment, so you can easily reach Piazzale Roma or Murano Island.

Inside this abode, the warm tones from the wood beams contrast nicely with the whitewashed walls. There are three sofas, so there’s plenty of room for everyone to relax. If you don’t fancy eating out, whip up a risotto al nero di sepia in the modern kitchenette. Or simply get some rest on the comfy beds after a busy day exploring all that this beguiling city has to offer.
