The apartment is a grand family home, with traditional touches like the wood-beamed ceilings. It’s on the fourth floor, and from the windows you can see a pretty skyscape of Venetian rooftops all the way to the Grand Canal. Even more amazingly for Venice, this building has an elevator so those four floors are no trouble at all. 

Take your morning coffee on the balcony, then head out to explore the city. The Vaporetto stop at Santa Maria del Giglio is five minutes from the apartment, so it’s easy to get out on the lagoon. The glorious views from Ponte dell’Accademia can be found just five minutes away, while Piazza San Marco is a ten-minute stroll. Rialto Bridge is nine minutes from the apartment – stroll across it with a gelato for a cheeky touristy moment. 

Calle XXII Marzo, an upmarket avenue of high-end boutiques, is just seven minutes from the apartment. Whether you’re flashing the cash or window shopping, it’s worth a wander.

A Taste Of Venice

This elegant apartment is spread across two floors of a historic palazzo, boasting fantastic views of the canal and the San Trovaso Church. You’ll be in a great location from which to explore Venice and enjoy gondola rides, but far enough from the usual tourist spots to enjoy some tranquillity too. This is an ideal base for a family, with plenty of space for everyone in the party to find a little private nook. There are some stairs to climb here, and the kitchen may be on the compact side, but still, this is a great find.

Located in one of the most interesting districts of Venice, this home is the ideal base for those who want to visit all the major Venetian museums including the Galleria dell'Accademia and the Guggenheim Museum. What’s more, it is also distant enough from the crowded tourist spots to offer a more authentic, local feel to your stay. 

The home’s crowning glory, however, is its two large terraces, one of which is sheltered by a beautiful arch of plants that creates a great shaded outdoor spot, even on the hottest of days. For somewhere between San Marco and the Rialto bridge, A Call for Calm is remarkably quiet. It’s far from the main thoroughfares, the narrow alleyways that nevertheless carry tens of thousands of tourists to and from St. Mark’s Square every day. It’s also, location aside, a lovely place to stay. The hefty beams stand out, but every part of the design works perfectly together, and while it can only hold three people, Mario looks after a couple of other places in the building, so larger groups can look at potential combinations.


A Call For Calm

Situated in a typical Venetian building – this apartment has gorgeous views from the living and dining room over Venice’s charming canals, as well as glimpses of the Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute. If some of your group are split between a preference for a modern or characterful home – well this place mixes both styles. Guests with limited mobility should take note that this home’s building doesn’t have a lift. If that’s not a deal-breaker, you’ll love the location – the Peggy Guggenheim Museum is nearby, while getting to the Lido is easy as the Santo Spirito Vaporetto is just a short walk away.

This apartment laid out over two floors sits in the restored home of a 15th-century Venetian Doge. Make your entrance by private water taxi and take in the elegant blend of modern and antique-inspired furnishings. The marble bathtub is a definite highlight, as is the Juliet balcony offering incredible canal views – best enjoyed over a glass of bubbly.  The kitchenette is on the small side here, but you’ll find plenty of restaurants nearby. However, with that courtyard, you might want to spend more time at home – we think it's a perfect spot for afternoon drinks after a morning exploring the nearby museums, galleries and churches.

If you're looking for a quiet little base to set up a romantic trip in Venice, you can stop looking. This home is more functional than stylish, but it has everything you need for extended stays, including a well-equipped kitchen. And while the courtyard's furniture could do with an upgrade, the space is still perfect for spending some time away from the throng of tourists.
