For somewhere between San Marco and the Rialto bridge, A Call for Calm is remarkably quiet. It’s far from the main thoroughfares, the narrow alleyways that nevertheless carry tens of thousands of tourists to and from St. Mark’s Square every day. It’s also, location aside, a lovely place to stay. The hefty beams stand out, but every part of the design works perfectly together, and while it can only hold three people, Mario looks after a couple of other places in the building, so larger groups can look at potential combinations.


A Call For Calm

If you’re looking for eclectic with a capital E, then you just found it. Zebra-print furnishings combine with ornate Venetian mirrors, Persian rugs and antique sculptures in a way that somehow comes together. It’s a great apartment for a romantic break in Venice, with plenty of space for two. The sunny terrace with views over the city is a nice touch, and you’re right on the gondola crossway between Rialto and San Marco, so there’s always something to watch down below. Take the two-minute stroll to the ludicrously beautiful St Mark’s Basilica for an iconic Venetian experience, or go on a half-hour walk to Piazzale Roma via landmarks such as the Rialto Bridge and the Frari. Make sure you’re back in time for a spritz on the terrace as the sun goes down.

Invisible Cities

This lovely flat situated in beautiful Venice awaits you for a comfortable getaway to the city. This Venetian building holds charming decor with subtle antique-styled touches, as well as a view of the famous Basilica dei Frari and the canal. Enjoy a cup of coffee as you watch the gondolas pass by below, allowing you to simply observe the locale as you unwind or tuck into a hearty homecooked meal at the dining table by the large window.

Head out for a short walk to get closer to the beautiful Basilica dei Frari, followed by an afternoon wandering the charming streets of Venice. You'll find plenty of relaxing cafes that serve up tasty baked goods, washed down with freshly brewed coffee, as well as delicious restaurants and sumptuous bars.

In a grand Venetian palazzo, this amazing home is not the kind of place that you come across every day. Relax with a glass of Prosecco on the altana, a typical Venetian rooftop terrace – we love the breathtaking 360-degree views of the city.

Inside, with its ornate furniture, beautiful paintings and baroque atmosphere, you can imagine hosting a masquerade within its walls. It encapsulates the beauty and richness of this once-mighty empire. This home has probably one of the comfiest sofas – it's made of down and feather, so it's very soft, and you'll sink right into it – we felt like Lord Byron lounging here.

The location is as splendid as this apartment – historic Piazza San Marco and Accademia Bridge are just over a five-minute stroll. Opera lovers will be over the moon to learn that Teatro La Fenice is a mere three-minute saunter. Your lovely hosts can arrange cultural guides and boat excursions to ensure you get the most out of your time in this stunning city.


Masque Ball

Sitting within a pretty pink palazzo opposite the Museo della Musica di Venezia – right on Campo San Maurizio – this elegant apartment has been masterfully curated to blend Old World Venetian charm with modern luxury.

Having said that – we’re sure you’ll be busy sightseeing in a city as unique as this one, with some of its most famous landmarks, such as San Marco Square and the Rialto Bridge, within walking distance. Venetian Dream

At the corner of the Corte Barozzi square, this home is spread over three levels and offers an authentically Venetian stay. The amount of stairs mean it's not suitable for toddlers and small children, and guests who struggle with stairs will want to look elsewhere. But the views from the rooftop terrace are lovely, and the stylish bedrooms guarantee a comfortable night's sleep. Spots like St Mark's Square and the neighbourhood gondola station are a short walk away, so traversing the city will be a breeze.
