From the art and objects to the natural tones and textures, every detail inspires a wonderful sense of calm. 

Enjoy relaxing by the fire in the large open-plan living and dining room, savour delicious meals prepared by your private chef and experience total serenity in the elegant bedrooms (each with its own bathroom). Follow the views outside and you’ll find the garden welcoming you to wander through the trees and savour a refreshing dip in the pool. And with multiple seating areas, this is the perfect setting for magical sunset drinks and barbecue meals that linger long into the evening.

Golden Earth

Nestled amidst an abundance of leafy green nature, this architecturally modern and unique home juxtaposes beautifully in contrast with its nature-filled habitat. With tons of personality and intriguing quirks throughout, one of the first things you'll notice is the huge circular window at the heart of the home. It features like a piece of artwork at the centre of the main living area, framing your beautiful surroundings and allowing you to gaze out over the golf course and peaceful pinewood forest.

Clean lines and contemporary designs style every room with warmth and harmony across the home, creating a truly comfortable space to relax between excursions and exploring the local area. 

There is a particular emphasis on the art of leisure here, as the host supplies bicycles, surfboards, tennis rackets, and tennis balls for guests to enjoy when lapping up the picturesque locale. Golfers and surfers will be thrilled with the home's close proximity to course and coast alike – you’ll be amazed to find that the home’s garden is actually set on the green of Aroeira Golf Course, one of Portugal’s largest. Whether you decide to go for a swing or a surfing swim, your host can help you book a session. 

Set in the suburban town of Aroeira, the home is just a thirty-minute drive away from the centre of Lisbon and an even closer, twelve-minute drive to Fonte da Telha Beach. 

Modern Soul

There are few places in the world as peaceful as the Comporta region. And here, in this Californian-style, boho-chic villa, you’re in the perfect place to switch off and recharge, just twenty-five minutes from the dazzling beaches of Comporta. Surrounded by an idyllic pine and cork oak forest and with your own glittering pool, relaxing comes easy. You wouldn’t think you’re just an hour’s drive from bustling Lisbon. 

It isn’t just the setting that makes this home so special. Despite the home’s recent renovation in 2021, the traditional touches of a terracotta tiled roof, original gas burner, and Portuguese-style tiles were kept. It’s been beautifully done to suit both a modern and traditional preference, respecting its roots while providing a contemporary level of comfort. The kitchen is a perfect example of this – top-notch appliances are met with rustic surfaces and shelves, embodying the bohemian spirit of Comporta. It’s certainly a kitchen that wants to be cooked in, whether that’s by you or a private chef.

As much as we love the interior, it’s the outdoor area that takes the cake. You’re wrapped up in dreamy haze of peach and pink here, with hours blissfully rolling by as you lie on the in-pool daybed, dipping your toe in the water, with nothing but the forest stretching around you. Life stands still and you finally get to the level of relaxation you’ve been craving. Afternoon pool dips are followed by crisp glasses of wine, enjoyed in the sparkling white 70s-style sofa pit. When dinnertime rolls around, present a feast of salads garnished with the herbs picked from your garden and barbecued local produce along the outdoor dining table, covered by the straw pergola. 

Peachy Dreams

This wonderful home is the kind you’ll fondly daydream about when you’re back at home, listening to drizzle patter against the windows. Everything you might want or need during your stay has been thought of in this luxurious and welcoming home, so you can focus on enjoying every last second of your break. 

The villa is bright and stylish, with decor and finishes that would be at home in an interior design magazine. It’s beautiful, with splashes of colour adding warmth and fun. You’ll wake up to feel the sunshine on your pillow, tempting you to head through the floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors outside to the terrace. Sip an espresso as you breathe in the warm, sweet-scented air. 

The outside space has been as thoughtfully considered as the house. There’s something for everyone, whether you’re a sun-worshipper or prefer to lounge in the shade. Table tennis will keep the big kids entertained, while you cool off in the refreshing solar-heated pool. There’s a gym inside, too, so you can easily get a workout in – though we might be more tempted by a yoga session on the terrace. 

When you want to explore further afield, you might stroll to Galé beach, or perhaps hop in the car to visit Troia. History buffs will enjoy seeing the Roman ruins at Cetobriga, while golfers might choose to stay closer to home – Troia Golf is a five-minute drive from the villa. This is truly a holiday home with something for everyone – you’ll never want to leave.  

Tranquil Sands Retreat

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to stay in a work of art? In this striking villa, designed by renowned architect Joao Pedro Falcao de Campos, you can. Dominated by strong lines and sharp angles, this bold home is a gorgeous contrast against its natural setting. Rice paddies, sand dunes, luscious forests, and the sparking Atlantic Ocean make up the landscape surrounding this contemporary home near the hippy-chic village of Carvalhal. Not only is this villa beautiful, in an unbeatable location, but it’s a relaxation paradise. Whether you’re soaking in the free-standing tub, practising sunrise yoga classes, getting a massage by a professional masseuse, or letting a private chef take care of dinner, this is your time to relax. 

Inside the villa, the simple, minimalist design lets the natural wood do the talking. We can’t get enough of the wall lined by wooden shelves, accentuating its angles and adding an artistic flair. And while some modern homes don’t always have that warmth that makes us relax and feel comfortable, the fireplace, warm-toned light fixtures, and plush sofa see to it that you will. The wood-lined wall guides you to the kitchen and with a huge island, top-notch appliances, and surfaces made of Estremoz stone – it’s a chef’s dream. 

The home is a special one, but we imagine you’ll be spending most of your time making the most of the incredible outdoors. The garden is partially decked and partially sand, surrounded by greenery, really making you feel like you’re on your own island. While away the days reading by the heated pool, occasionally taking a dip in the waters, and watching the little ones make sand castles in the garden. If the sand has you in the mood to go to the beach, you’re just a five-minute walk from Praia de Pego. Or, you can use the villa’s bikes to get there in no time, while freely exploring more of the beautiful area and popping into the nearby villages. After all that action, a crisp glass of wine straight from your wine fridge will taste even better. We struggle to find a better feeling than enjoying fresh barbecue alfresco, sipping on a nice glass of wine, and enjoying each other’s company, while the fiery sun sets.

Mothership

This is a truly magical place to stay. Step inside the Tree House Villa complex and you will be transported to a world of Portuguese charm and history. Whitewashed walls, navy window casings and a thatched roof are what you will glimpse upon first approaching the villa, with tonnes of outdoor seating space and gorgeous wooden decking surrounding the houses. Located in the stunning Carrasqueira area, right by the coast, this 5 bedroom property is not one to miss.

The Tree House Villa

This modern home close to Portugal’s western coast is a great place for families or groups of friends. Each of the bedrooms comes with an ensuite and has direct access to either a terrace or private balcony. The open-plan living space provides a cosy space for communal meals, or you can make use of the built-in barbecue and outdoor dining area. Amenities such as supermarkets, restaurants and Praia da Lagoa de Albufeira beach, where you can go diving or learn how to surf, are but a short drive away. 

A Touch of Tranquility

We love the bedrooms, in particular – each has its own colour theme providing a calming effect to complement the tasteful modern artwork. 

On your way to the beach, just 2km away, crawl into the local restaurant for a spot of lunch. Comporta's coastlines are picturesque, perfect for lounging in the sand and catching the rays. After a day of soaking up the Portuguese sunshine, be sure to gather your loved ones around the built-in barbecue back at home for an evening watching the sunset and indulging in divine local ingredients. A beautiful contemporary villa with a relaxing zen feeling will be the backdrop to a wonderful holiday to remember. 

Woven in Magic

You can spend sunny mornings out on your shaded terrace, with a large lounge area that makes for a great place for your morning coffee. You can cook up delicious chorizo scrambled eggs in your quaint kitchen area and tuck in alfresco at the shaded dining table. In the evenings, plant yourself in a deckchair with a glass of fizz, and watch the sunset over the fields in the distance.
