Wake up early and watch the sunrise from the roof terrace, embrace cooling dips in the pool and savour delicious evening drinks served on the terrace. Your host can also arrange a private chef – ensuring every moment of your stay feels personal and special.

Surrounded by forest with white sandy beaches on your doorstep, this serene stretch of coastline will leave you feeling refreshed and inspired by the unique magic of Comporta.

The Way of Peace

Tucked away in the exclusive residential enclave of Casas da Encosta, this villa is surrounded by natural beauty. While it’s big enough to sleep twelve, one of the bedrooms has three bunk beds so is best for children. Lazy days here can be spent lounging by the private pool, enjoying the panoramic views, or tucking into an alfresco meal at the shaded dining table. And when you’re ready for a change of scene, the nearest beach is just a two-minute drive away. You can also hire bikes and buggies from your host to explore the surrounding area at your own pace.

The Summer Breeze

Pine trees frame the alfresco dining terrace, the garden stretches out ahead, and large windows pull the outside in – this house on the Tróia peninsula is built around its natural setting. The living room opens directly onto the lawn, with a fireplace for cooler evenings and a relaxed ease that carries through the whole home. It sits within a short walk of the Atlantic beaches and the sweeping wetland scenery of the Sado Estuary Reserve – an easy base for both unwinding and exploring the coastline.

Tróia Sol

This home is really made for spending time outdoors, with so many places to relax as the sun warms your skin. Overlooking your crystal blue pool is a delightful undercover seating area, so if you aren’t dining alfresco, you can pop your feet up on the comfortable white chaise with a glass of wine in hand. Venture inside and it’s just as charming – picture neutral colours, natural materials and wonderful open-plan spaces ideal for entertaining. We love the bedrooms, in particular – each has its own colour theme providing a calming effect to complement the tasteful modern artwork.

On your way to the beach, just 2km away, crawl into the local restaurant for a spot of lunch. Comporta's coastlines are picturesque, perfect for lounging in the sand and catching the rays. After a day of soaking up the Portuguese sunshine, be sure to gather your loved ones around the built-in barbecue back at home for an evening watching the sunset and indulging in divine local ingredients. A beautiful contemporary villa with a relaxing zen feeling will be the backdrop to a wonderful holiday to remember.

Woven in Magic

This modern villa offers a stylish haven for those seeking a relaxing Portuguese escape. Situated in the heart of quiet countryside, the home is within easy access to the stunning beaches of the Alentejo Coast – however, you will need a car to get around. The inside is bright and elegant, with plenty of space for a family or a group of friends to get comfy. Outside, you’ll enjoy a private swimming pool and a terrace boasting nice views and a dining area for alfresco meals.

Casa Roriz

This is a truly magical place to stay. Step inside the Tree House Villa complex and you will be transported to a world of Portuguese charm and history. Whitewashed walls, navy window casings and a thatched roof are what you will glimpse upon first approaching the villa, with tonnes of outdoor seating space and gorgeous wooden decking surrounding the houses. Located in the stunning Carrasqueira area, right by the coast, this 5 bedroom property is not one to miss.

The Tree House Villa

Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Comporta with a stay in this serene cabana. Perched on the edge of a lake, you’ll be serenaded by the sweet sounds of nature and stunning views. There’s a wonderful terrace where you can sit back and soak it all in. The rooms are simple, elegant and perfect for groups in search of ease and simplicity. Daily housekeeping is provided and there are a range of extra services available such as private chefs, yoga sessions and bike rentals. Beyond here, it’s just a five-minute walk to Pego Beach, while the nearest amenities are also within easy reach.

Spring Lake

This lovely villa nestles in the traditional village of Possanco, with views of the rice fields of the Sado river. Simplistic and modern with a private pool and balconies right from the bedrooms, you'll also have optional luxuries like a private chef or a buggy for exploring off-road. There may not be storage for extensive shopping trips here, but this home's main highlight is its location. You'll be a short drive from Comporta, where you'll find shopping, essentials and good food. Days at Comporta beach aren't much further away, and there's even a golf course a little further afield.

Refuge of Salt and Rice

A heated pool beneath a slatted pergola, a barbecue terrace for long alfresco evenings, and the emerald rice paddies of Carvalhal on your doorstep – this villa earns its place as a proper summer retreat. The bright, sociable living space keeps everyone together when you're not outside, and air conditioning ensures you return from the day's adventures to somewhere cool. Comporta Beach's wild Atlantic shoreline is a forty-minute walk, but you'll find the village centre, its cafes, and the local supermarket far closer – reachable on foot or by borrowed bike.

Green to Blue

This pristine villa is ideal for exploring the luxury beach town of Comporta. Set in the village of Carvalhal, you're only a short walk from local restaurants and a five-minute drive to the sandy beach. Inside, the interiors have coastal boho down to a fine art, with white walls, blue accents and natural textures. The mezzanine level above the kitchen makes for a cosy den that kids will love. At full capacity, eight guests will share two bathrooms, so some coordination may be needed. But with a private pool and a garden overlooking green fields, there are worse places to wait for a shower.

Carvalhal Breeze

An idyllic retreat just a seven-minute walk from Pego Beach, this home is as relaxing as it looks. It's surrounded by the Comporta Nature Reserve and offers plenty of scenic spots to while away the afternoon. The private pool is a real highlight, as is the outdoor terrace where alfresco feasts are sure to be on the itinerary. With a thatched roof, white-washed façade, and vaulted ceilings, it has a charm about it that's hard to resist. Factor in daily housekeeping and easy access for exploring, and we think you'll be smitten as we are.

Comporta Haven

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to stay in a work of art? In this striking villa, designed by renowned architect Joao Pedro Falcao de Campos, you can. Dominated by strong lines and sharp angles, this bold home is a gorgeous contrast against its natural setting. Rice paddies, sand dunes, luscious forests, and the sparking Atlantic Ocean make up the landscape surrounding this contemporary home near the hippy-chic village of Carvalhal. Not only is this villa beautiful, in an unbeatable location, but it’s a relaxation paradise. Whether you’re soaking in the free-standing tub, practising sunrise yoga classes, getting a massage by a professional masseuse, or letting a private chef take care of dinner, this is your time to relax.

Inside the villa, the simple, minimalist design lets the natural wood do the talking. We can’t get enough of the wall lined by wooden shelves, accentuating its angles and adding an artistic flair. And while some modern homes don’t always have that warmth that makes us relax and feel comfortable, the fireplace, warm-toned light fixtures, and plush sofa see to it that you will. The wood-lined wall guides you to the kitchen and with a huge island, top-notch appliances, and surfaces made of Estremoz stone – it’s a chef’s dream.

The home is a special one, but we imagine you’ll be spending most of your time making the most of the incredible outdoors. The garden is partially decked and partially sand, surrounded by greenery, really making you feel like you’re on your own island. While away the days reading by the heated pool, occasionally taking a dip in the waters, and watching the little ones make sand castles in the garden. If the sand has you in the mood to go to the beach, you’re just a five-minute walk from Praia de Pego. Or, you can use the villa’s bikes to get there in no time, while freely exploring more of the beautiful area and popping into the nearby villages. After all that action, a crisp glass of wine straight from your wine fridge will taste even better. We struggle to find a better feeling than enjoying fresh barbecue alfresco, sipping on a nice glass of wine, and enjoying each other’s company, while the fiery sun sets.
