Take a peek inside the barn, and you'll find a private games room with a pool table, ping pong, air hockey, and dartboard and a large rose garden adjacent to the villa, which provides fresh roses daily.

We love the vistas over Pedro Point from the living room and balcony – enjoy a glass of Californian rosé wine while enjoying the views. Later whip up a Clam Chowder in the kitchen before relaxing on the comfy sofa – this place is all about unwinding.

Spread across a few floors, this impressive and innovative spot is somewhere between a townhouse and a lodge. It is just outside of the city centre of Truckee, surrounded by parkland and a river that keeps you close to nature.

In winter, watch snow grace the terrain and head to one of the ski resorts surrounding Lake Tahoe. The lake itself is a family paradise in the summer months when you can kayak and swim in it.

Located on Carnelian Bay in Ridgewood, you couldn’t be better positioned to make the most of famous Lake Tahoe.  Whether you want to be skiing or swimming, your options are bountiful here. The nearest beach, for example, is less than a ten-minute drive away and both Squaw Valley and Northstar ski resorts are just thirteen miles away. Having said all of that, we wouldn’t blame you if you decided never to leave the house at all. The striking home has been beautifully furnished and decorated to ensure you have a holiday you won’t soon forget. Wake up extra early for breathtaking sunrises, then spend the rest of your day relaxing on the deck, preparing delicious meals in the state-of-the-art kitchen and taking in magical views.

Overlooking beautiful Donner Lake, which sits on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada, guests will find a home that will perfectly suit a small family.  The first bedroom has a king-size bed, while bedroom two is made up of a queen-size bunk bed. More importantly, guests have easy access to the lake so make sure to pack your swimsuits and any floating devices. Wander around the edge of the lake and you'll come across charming cafes, restaurants and shops. We would, however, still recommend having a car in order to explore all this area has to offer.

This delightful Wine Country home is a superb choice for a family or group of friends hoping to relax, unwind, and try some of California’s finest tipples. A newly built cottage, this home sits just eight miles from Healdsburg Plaza, and a few minutes from Lake Sonoma. It’s far enough from town to feel like a real retreat, but you’re within easy reach of anything you might need. Best of all, there are dozens of wineries within minutes. 

As soon as you arrive, you’ll be taken by the stunning vineyard views – this really is a pretty setting. The home has been designed in the style of an Italian villa, with wooden floors and stylish decor. It’s wonderfully comfortable too – after a long day, you can curl up in front of the fireplace to sip tea and enjoy a moment of tranquillity. The kitchen is wonderfully well stocked with utensils so you can whip up feasts with no trouble at all – or, easier still, book a private chef to wow your guests. 

The porch is a strong contender for our favourite spot. Take a seat in a rocking chair as the sun is sinking in the sky, and sip a glass of the wine you most enjoyed that day. You’ll feel a million miles from the hustle and bustle. Continue to unwind by slipping into the hot tub. After one last glass of wine and a few marshmallows toasted over the fire pit, you’ll be ready to sink into a comfortable bed for an excellent night’s sleep. We love it here.
