This art-filled sanctuary occupies a privileged spot in the heart of Palm Springs. Upon arrival, you’ll be treated to stunning mountain views and a range of luxurious amenities. From the large pool and Jacuzzi to the private mini golf course, this is the perfect spot for a laidback desert retreat. There’s also a barbecue and a fire pit for magical evenings under the stars, while the rooms set the tone for total relaxation. And when it comes to explorations further afield, it’s less than a five-minute drive to Downtown Palm Springs and just fifty-minutes to Joshua Tree National Park.

Desert Retreat

With a nod to classic Rock-n-Roll, this mid-century modern home pays tribute to its era and allows guests to take a step back in history and experience Palm Springs at its finest – without losing any comforts of the twenty-first century.

The pool, for example, features a sun shelf for an opportunity to work on the perfect tan, while the kitchen is fully equipped and decked out with all modern appliances. From the backyard, you can enjoy sweeping mountain views. We highly recommend whipping up some cocktails in the outdoor bar and watching the sunset over the San Jacinto Mountains, especially from the fabulous fire pit area.

Afterwards, guests can sleep well in the individually designed bedrooms, all of which feature intricate wallpaper to give you that retro feeling while you wind down from a long day. After all, you’ll want to be well-rested to enjoy all that Palm Springs has to offer.

Semaphore

Mountain views, a pool, a hot tub and a fire pit – you’re well set at this Palm Springs home. The backyard is the main event, with space to eat outside, a barbecue and enough going on that you may not head out much. Inside, vaulted ceilings keep things light, and the open layout works well for groups, with a kitchen set up for cooking together. One bedroom opens straight onto the pool, which is a nice perk. The garage doubles as a gym with a Peloton if you’re feeling motivated. You’re a short drive from downtown Palm Springs for restaurants and galleries, while Joshua Tree National Park is about an hour away.

Mountain Palm Sway

It's hard to picture a home more Palm Springs than this. From the saltwater pool surrounded by palm trees to the abundance of sun beds, this home is perfect for a family reunion or friendly getaway. With the size of the space, you'll easily be able to find space to yourself here – there's even a meditation room. There's also plenty of space to come together, though – you'll find enough space for everyone in the jacuzzi, and alfresco dining is a breeze thanks to the barbecue. When it's time to explore, you're just a short drive from mountains and desert here, and just up the road from downtown Palm Springs.

The Desert Spring

You'll find classic Palm Springs-style in abundance at this iconic 1965 Alexander home in Oasis Del Sol. The backyard is the main draw. Swim in the pool, fire up the BBQ, or unwind in the spa at sunset in front of mountain views. Inside, the decor won't blow you away, but it's spacious, with two living rooms and two dining areas. At full capacity, two guests will share the Murphy bed in the office, and you’ll be sharing three bathrooms – easy enough for a group or family. You can walk to a few local spots, but it’s worth hiring a car to reach downtown Palm Springs, Palm Canyon Drive, or some of the famous hiking trails nearby.

Desert Iconic

This magnificent mid-century home is pure Palm Springs perfection. Boasting mesmerising mountain views, a private, outdoor pool and covered lounging and dining areas, this captivating California home really does have it all. What’s more, according to local lore, it is the former residence of George Reeves, star of the 1950s Superman television series.

Featuring an open plan design this historic home features a well-equipped kitchen, dining and living room as well as three-bedrooms, all of which open out onto the patio, garden and courtyard. Blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor living in order to take full advantage of the sunshine and spectacular mountain views, this is easy breezy living at its very best.

You’ll love flinging open from French doors of the living room and taking your morning coffee out on the covered lanai. While away hours lazing on loungers in the sun or reading or reclining on the outdoor chaise longues before cooling off with a refreshing dip in the pool. Prepare home cooked meals in the kitchen or barbecue to your heart’s content while revelling in refreshments from the poolside bar or guest casita. Dine alfresco and as the light begins to fade enjoy digestifs beside the fire pit. Beautiful twinkling lights compliment the desert’s starry skies creating a magical ambiance. At the day’s end cosy up in the living room with its two-sided fireplace and lounge-worthy sofas for movie night.

Tucked away on a quiet residential street in the Movie Colony East neighbourhood, you’ll find your home’s location one block from Ruth Hardy Park, and less than a mile from the world-famous Palm Canyon Drive perfect for a little exploration. You’re also within walking distance of the Uptown Design District with its boutiques, art galleries, sidewalk cafes and fine dining restaurants while the casino, convention centre and night spots are just a short stroll away.

Mid-Century Magic

Sun, sand, and a buzzing centre – Palm Springs has it all. Start your morning lounging by the pool or playing a couple of garden games, before winding down the day with a family barbecue and drinks by the firepit (or the hot tub – the choice is yours). Travellers who want a little extra space can claim the separate casita with a bedroom, ensuite, and living space. When you're ready to explore, Palm Springs' boutiques, galleries and eateries are a short drive away, and you can visit the deserts of Coachella Valley and Joshua Tree in under an hour.

Desert Valley

Stepping inside this Palm Springs home, we immediately were transported to the town's heyday, where mid-century movie stars flocked to the area for film premieres and sun-soaked getaways. This feels like a 1970s party pad, from the grassy outdoors and lengthy swimming pool, to the living room's stone fireplace. But it feels current too, thanks to colourful modern art, polished concrete floors, and a wet bar. Pops of colour liven up the clean, white bedrooms, and glorious floor-to-ceiling glass lets tonnes of sunlight flood this chic villa. Downtown Palm Springs is minutes away, with art museums, an eclectic dining scene, and vivacious gardens. No need to leave your home though as the grounds come with mountain views that, in our opinion, are some of the best in the area. Light the firepit to keep things warm when the sun goes down, a dream to watch the stars – or toast s'mores – under.

Orange Dusk

This stylish and inspired home is tucked away just minutes from downtown Palm Springs. Slip into the waters of the luxurious saltwater pool and Jacuzzi for a day of unwinding and pampering, perfect for anyone wanting to get away from it all for a little while. Sprawl out on the poolside chaise lounges and fan yourself as the sun beats down, or work from home with the dedicated desk in the main bedroom. With walls of glass making the seamless transition from indoors to outdoors, it won't matter if you're sitting around the fireplace in the evening telling stories, or sitting around the fire pit under the stars – this home will ensure you're making the most of your trip. If you're travelling with kids, boredom will become a thing of the past with plenty of garden games to keep them occupied. Get out on that vibrant green lawn and get some valuable family time in during the day. Or hop on the bicycles and go for a ride around the neighbourhood – it's the perfect way to get to know the area while staying active.

This home makes it easy to step out to grab necessities, eat out or head to an event or bar, no matter what you're hoping to do during your stay. Pop out to grab a coffee or head to the nearby golf course to shoot some holes, or drive to one of the nearby museums and art galleries to inject some culture into your trip.

Palm Tree Visions

Built in 1959 and updated in 2020, Desert View is a mid-century modern classic with plenty of twenty-first-century amenities. Whether you're coming as a family or with your closest friends, Desert View offers a truly authentic Palm Springs experience, including panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and desert. Although we don't want to promise too much, we think Desert View might just surpass your expectations for a perfect Palm Springs getaway.
