Escape to Springs, East Hamptons for a magical little visit to Wisteria Delight. The charming cottage sits on several acres of land and features a picturesque deck overgrown with wisteria, a private gunite pool, an outdoor fire pit and a large open floor plan. The studio-style home welcomes up to three guests and one toddler, making it the perfect getaway for a small family. It is worth noting, however, that this home does not have a kitchen, so you'll need to eat out, but with such a great selection of laid-back restaurants in the area, you won't run out of options. Best of all, you're just five minutes from the sea and if you rent bicycles, you can be at the nearest ocean beach in just fifteen minutes. Whether you want to make the most of your cosy home or spend your time out and about, there is a ton to see and do here.

Wisteria Delight

Embrace Hamptons living from this beautiful East Hampton hideaway. Found only a short way from several beaches, including Louse Point Town Beach, you can use one of four bicycles available to cycle there in a few minutes. But we'd recommend packing the car so you can take the inflatable paddle boards for even more fun in the sun. And if fun is your main objective, the house shouldn't be forgotten. With a private pool and sprawling lawn where little ones can play ball, the suntrap garden can double as an alfresco entertainment space. The're also a activity room with a Peleton bike for anyone wanting to keep up their fitness. 

East Eden

Look out for artists, poets and musicians in the area around this home – it’s located in Springs, arguably the coolest town in the Hamptons. In the past, it’s played host to visionaries like Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner, Willem de Kooning, Kurt Vonnegut, and John Steinbeck. Luckily, the home’s bright, colourful design lives up to its surroundings, with patterned throws and bedspreads, quirky artwork and unique furniture. From the moment you step foot inside, you'll feel right at home. There are 1.5 acres of land to explore out the back, with plenty of options for alfresco dining, whether you choose to relax with a barbecue under the wisteria or socialise on the patio. On hot summer days, go for a swim in the crystal clear pool, or lie back with a book on a sun lounger nearby. As if this wasn't enough, it’s also perfectly located for making the most of Springs, with the sea just a five-minute cycle away, and coastal walks and surf beaches within easy reach. On Saturdays, amble over to the Farmer’s Market to purchase fresh produce to whip up a feast. All in all, this is a delightful stay for young families or a group of old friends coming together. 

Sunflower Summer

This pet-friendly home provides a sweet backdrop to a classic Hamptons escape. You’ll be just a short stroll away from Lions Head Beach where you can set sail on a boat trip or gather for a picnic – your host has provided plenty of beach-friendly amenities. It’s also just a short drive to the local shops and restaurants of East Hampton. And for those looking to simply relax and unwind at home, the wrap-around deck is great for barbecue meals, while the living room sets the tone for cosy nights by the fire.

This beautiful home is set within dense woodland on the northern East Hampton Coast, just two blocks from a private beach looking out over Gardiners Bay. Inside, there are beautiful hardwood floors, a cosy fireplace for cool evenings and cathedral-like ceilings over the dining area. The bedrooms have that softbox glow thanks to neutral tones and lightweight curtains that offer privacy without blocking the light (so you may want to pack an eye mask for lie-ins). Step outside onto the terrace, and you'll find a seating area centred around a fire pit and a separate dining table, plus a grill for alfresco cooking on long summer evenings. The well-maintained lawn is plenty big enough for the kids to play ball games and keep themselves entertained. If you can tear yourself away, you're just fifteen minutes' drive from an afternoon of wine tasting or twenty-five minutes to Montauk Brewing Company. For a more family-friendly day out, head over to the Hanks Pumpkintown or The Milk Pail for apple picking and corn mazes.

Magic in The Hamptons

Brick fireplaces, bleached-wood benches and wide windows create a space filled with light and warmth, and the true charm of this home isn’t limited to the interiors. Apart from the proximity to the bays, beaches and bars that make the area such a coveted holiday spot, it’s also home to a garden straight from a landscaping magazine. Mix yourself a cocktail to enjoy on the patio while you admire the butterflies and birds fluttering in and out of the flowers, or take a little nap in the sunshine. In other words, make yourself at home. 

The Dappled Light

This East Hamptons home has everything you might need for a stay that’s memorable for all the right reasons. It’s a beautiful home with hardwood floors and pristine white furniture, with a spacious kitchen and dining area that just calls out for entertaining. 

When you wake up in the morning – after a peaceful night’s sleep – you’ll want to head straight out onto the covered porch to breathe in the fresh air. Perhaps you’ll go for an early-morning swim in the heated salt-water pool, or maybe your mind will already be in the kitchen. With a breakfast bar and a lovely dining table, there’s enough room for everyone to dine together – and there’s a splendid outdoor kitchen with a grill too. 

Then you just have to decide how to spend the rest of your day. Will you drive eight minutes to paddle at Amagansett Beach, or play a round of golf at the East Hampton Golf Club, which is just three minutes away? However you spend your day, make sure you’re back in time to enjoy the sunset from the garden. Sip cocktails on the porch as the sun shifts into pastel shades, then stay out late to spot the stars. 


Cool Ranch

The chic, charcoal exterior to this manor-like home totally encapsulates New York riches and royals – welcome to The Hamptons. On your own private, wooded cul-de-sac lies this hidden home, with enough greenery and shade to rival the classic blue and white theme that iconises this coastline. Not to worry, the sand and sea might be out of view, but they are never out of reach. Close to Amagansett village, bay and ocean beaches, parks, and the farmers' market, you are perfectly situated in your own little (or rather large) bubble, capable of bursting it to venture into Long Island life whenever you so wish. A popular escape for the summer months, the light and bright whites of the interiors reflect the sunlight around the space, whilst cosier nooks in the library with its open fire make their own warmth in winter. An impressive guitar collection – presented like artwork on the walls – brings a sense of fun to the lower-level media room, and there's also a sauna and gym if you fancy working up a sweat. Your hosts will provide beach towels, chairs, and umbrellas, so all you have to do is firmly plant yourself on the sand, where you will probably remain for most of your stay. 

Shingle Manor

Space pays in The Hamptons, as New York's elite jostle for a patch on the sand come summer. You needn't worry about the crowds at this red brick home, however, with its large gardens and private path to Bay Beach. Decamp here over warmer months for chilled out days on the veranda, by the pool, in the sauna, in the hot tub... the only stressful decision seems to be where to relax. Inside, an open-plan living room and dining room have got enough space for everyone to congregate for card games or accounts of their days exploring East Hampton, which can be discovered on the home's two adult bikes. For those who want to up the ante, pull out the table tennis table and start a friendly competition. This is your space in The Hamptons, and you may never want to leave.

Retreat to a comforting home and cosy up round the feature fireplace in the living room for a cup of cocoa. Enjoy alfresco dining on the porch, equipped with a gas grill for summer barbecues, and end an idyllic day cooling off in the swimming pool or bubbling away in the jacuzzi that looks out over dozens of old oak trees.

With full-length windows overlooking the verdant woodland, you can relax into the mid-century seating, fire up the stove and sink into a peaceful state of mind. Each sun-filled room has been minimally decorated with well-chosen antique furniture, leaving the light and space as the take-away features.

If you're staying in the summer, make use of the private pool. Keen swimmers will have a choice between this and the sea – there are plenty of spectacular sandy beaches nearby. The hamlet of Springs is also known for its budding art scene, with a selection of contemporary galleries to check out while you're in the area. Travelling by car? Make the twenty-minute trip to neighbouring Montauk, where buzzy bars and fine dining establishments await.
