This apartment is ideally suited to those looking to drop their bags and head out from the get-go. Its major draw is the fabulous location, placing you in the thick of NYC. Just a short walk away you'll reach the iconic Flatiron Building, the Empire State Building, and Union Square – though this does mean that some noise should be expected. Inside, it's surprisingly spacious for a studio flat, with a kitchen and dining area tucked neatly around the corner. There's a sofa bed for flexible sleeping, but we only recommend this for younger children.

There are two things in this loft apartment in the Gramercy Park neighbourhood that you might not typically expect to see. The first is a baby grand piano (how did they get it up to the top storey is what we want to know), the second is the resident cat called Edith. Previous guests will attest to the fact that her presence is completely stress-free and even adds to the cosy factor when you're lounging about. This home has obviously been designed by somebody with an artistic outlook, as the walls are covered in prints and the shelves are jam-packed with books. Although we're guessing you didn't come to The Big Apple to just read. Go out the front door and you're on Park Avenue, right in the middle of Manhattan. Walk twenty minutes to your right and you'll reach the Chrysler Building, Ten minutes in the other direction will get you to the farmers' market at Union Square.

This apartment has a great address near desirable Chelsea. You're not far from Madison Avenue, perfect for a spot of designer clothes shopping. Other nearby attractions include the High Line and the iconic Flatiron Building. However, you don't have to go anywhere for vistas over the district, as this apartment has a shared landscaped roof deck with views across the city. Inside there's a nicely-sized kitchen for when you want to entertain and a desk in the main bedroom for catching up on work. Seeing as this is 'the city that never sleeps', though, expect to hear some noise during your stay.

The main room is lovely and light, and we particularly like the old wood floors too.

We particularly love this historic townhouse's location, slap bang in the middle of chic Manhattan. Marvel at the Empire State Building or catch a game at Madison Square Gardens – both under a ten-minute walk away. Or, browse Dover Street Market, a one minute saunter from here, for its cool clothing and gourmet café. That's breakfast and lunch covered – there are many fine dining options within walking distance for dinner too. If you don't fancy eating out or cooking in, it's just a two-minute walk to the local deli, so take some goodies back and enjoy in this home's giant back garden. This incredible penthouse apartment in the NoMad area of Manhattan is in a prime location to see all the sights and attractions on offer in the city that never sleeps. Plus, it offers space that you will rarely see in this city. A large indoor living area offers an ample kitchen with a breakfast bar, plenty of comfortable sofa seating, an office space with a fireplace to catch up on your work, and even a walk-in wardrobe to store all your shopping from Macy’s and Time’s Square – a twenty-three-minute walk away.

Plenty of Manhattan’s bucket list attractions are also nearby, with the East River reachable in twenty minutes on foot. The Empire State Building is only a short ten-minute walk away, or for a different view from above the city, the Rockefeller Center is reachable in twenty-seven minutes on foot. 

The home’s crowning glory, however, is the private rooftop terrace where you can enjoy your morning bagel with stunning views of the cityscape, including catching a glimpse of the top of the Empire State Building – which is a short fifteen-minute walk from here. The rooftop terrace also has comfortable seating under a shaded awning surrounded by plants, perfect for relaxing with a good book when you need a break from exploring the city. Plus, why not take a dip in the plunge pool on warmer days, and then dry off in front of the roaring fire? We would also love to return to the rooftop at night to cook on the barbecue and enjoy our meals alfresco accompanied by the fantastic panoramas and the sounds of the bustling city below.

While this home may be modest in square footage, it sure is mighty. Packing a punch in both convenience and amenities, a solo traveller or couple will be very happy here. With an impressive private terrace – that's almost as big as the home itself – you can thoroughly enjoy some downtime after a busy day with an aperitif under the stars. When you do find yourself at home, there's a comfortable sofa, writing desk and kitted-out kitchen complete with washer and dryer – a rarity in an NYC studio – so you can show up and start living as soon as you arrive. And did we mention that it's only a ten-minute walk to the Flatiron building? Continue for ten minutes more and you’ll reach the Empire State, the Morgan Library and Museum and the tucked away barbecue joints of bustling Koreatown.

It’s just under twenty minutes on foot to one of New York’s most famous landmarks, the Empire State Building, or Madame Tussauds New York is just over a five-minute stroll. Fashionistas, on the other hand, can head to the Garment District, home to the biggest concentration of fashion designers and manufacturers in the USA – just a four-minute wander. After all that sightseeing, you’ll need somewhere super comfy to chill out in – this apartment is perfect. We love the luxurious touches such as velvet curtains and the marble countertops, as well as the artworks dotted around this abode. If you're in the Big Apple on business, you’ll be glad to know there are desks here too. Stylish and practical – this apartment offers the best of both worlds.

Gramercy Park is a small pocket of Manhattan known for its upscale eateries and village atmosphere, and your prime locale puts you within easy walking distance of both the Flatiron Building (ten minutes) and the Empire State Building (twenty minutes). We recommend popping over to Union Square Greenmarket (a thirteen-minute walk) on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays for some fresh fruit and veg to use in a delicious dinner at home. Or if you're in the mood to go out, grab a drink and a bite to eat at one of the neighbourhood's buzzing bars, restaurants and 24-hour delis.

The sheer white curtains, lush plant life, and bright decor of this fabulous home put you immediately at ease in this bustling and lively city. Situated on a quiet Chelsea block, it's just minutes away from the bars and galleries this arty neighbourhood is known for. Plus, you're a twelve-minute walk from the Flatiron and can arrive in the Meatpacking District within fifteen minutes. The nearest train station, 23rd Street, is just a three-minute walk away if you need to go further afield. This is a tiny, 300-square foot studio, so won't be for those needing to spread out. But it's quaint and cosy as can be for a solo traveller or romantic getaway – and with a location like this, we think you'll be doing more going out than staying in.

First-time visitors to The Big Apple can't go wrong with this sleek studio apartment. Not only is it smartly laid out to maximise the space, but it's stylish, too – characterful artwork hangs in the living area, subway tiles line the kitchen walls and trendy exposed shelves show off the crockery. Your hosts go above and beyond to ensure you have an excellent stay, providing toiletries, welcome chocolates and even earplugs for a restful night's sleep. Pull up a stool and enjoy breakfasts around the kitchen island, sink into the leather sofa for a movie night and drift off in the comfortable bed after a busy day exploring. Speaking of, this apartment is located where Chelsea, Midtown and Hudson Yards all meet. While it's not the liveliest part of town, everything you'll want or need is within walking distance, be it the global eateries and food stalls in Chelsea Market – fifteen minutes away – or the bright lights of Times Square – twenty minutes on foot. Plus, you're just one block from the famous High Line and two blocks from Penn Station, where you can catch the subway and zip around the rest of New York City in no time.

Housed in a well-maintained building, you’ll be glad to return to this modern apartment. If you don’t fancy eating out, you can create some home cooked food in the well-equipped kitchen. This place is ideal for family, friends or business colleagues looking for a fantastic location in the Big Apple.

Upper East Side

In a little-trafficked (by Manhattan standards) corner of the Upper East Side, Heirloom provides you with a haven to retreat, away from the bustle normally associated with the city. That calm feeling has clearly influenced the interior design as well, with certain nods to Scandinavia, and nice variety of houseplants. The kitchen’s a draw too, with a good set of appliances (although no food is provided). It’s set over two floors, with a terrace split over two levels as well, so even if you decide to use the futon, it feels like it’s big enough.

Location is everything here! Situated on a really charming street in Greenwich Village, The Itty-Bitty is perfectly positioned to some of the city's best restaurants and bars. This is a 300-square foot walk-up, but so long as you don't intend to do some serious cooking or massively spread out, this cosy apartment will do just the trick. 


The Itty-Bitty

Nestled in the heart of the Upper West Side, this contemporary apartment is an ideal base whether you’re in the city on business or pleasure. The desk in the main bedroom makes remote working a breeze, while the on-site gym ensures you never need to miss a workout. Sure, the kitchen’s a bit of a squeeze, but it’s equipped with everything needed to rustle up home-cooked meals. That said, with a plethora of eateries on your doorstep and the nearby subway making it easy to hop across the city, dining out is always an option.

New York Spirit

This cosy home is located in the heart of the Upper West Side, just a short walk from Central Park and the Hudson River. As you’d expect from a studio, space is limited here, but the location and on-site amenities – which include a gym – more than make up for the smaller space. We think the kitchenette is best suited to light bites, as with no oven, you won’t be able to create grand culinary creations – but with an abundance of New York restaurants on your doorstep, dining out is a must.

This home doesn’t try too hard, and that’s part of its charm. The building is almost a hundred years old, and as it used to be a tenement block, there would have been four or five places in the space that this roomy home now takes up. The living area benefits from large windows and tonnes of natural light, making the plush grey sectional a lovely spot to spend the afternoon reading or napping. Of course, if you have work to do instead, the corner desk is all set up for hitting the ground running. Prepare an elaborate feast in the huge kitchen (massive by New York standards) and enjoy it at the elegant dining table. There’s lots of exciting artwork (and taxidermy) around, contributing to the home’s quirky personality, plus two newly renovated bathrooms - no morning queues here. When you’re ready to explore, you’ll be deep in the East Village, with endless options for good, hip restaurants and watering holes that range from dive bars to artisanal cocktail destinations. Plus, you’re just a four-minute walk from Tompkins Square Park, where you can enjoy one of the city’s lovely green spaces.

Why compromise a good night's rest when you come to the city that never sleeps? There's no need to in this quiet and calming Upper East Side duplex. With two floors of space for six of you to unwind at a fantastic value, you'll be content as can be during your stay. And there's even a balcony where you can watch the city pass by on pleasant evenings. Though the decor isn't particularly homey, it's been recently renovated making the bathroom and kitchen especially luxurious.

This chic, light-filled loft boasts an envy-inducing location in the heart of Soho. Huge windows and 14-foot ceilings mean that it’s a bright and welcoming home, with an open-plan living and dining space that’s sure to impress even the most discerning travellers. The chef’s kitchen will delight gastronomes – though there are plenty of restaurants, bars and coffee shops nearby if you prefer to leave the cooking to the professionals. This comfortable and well-equipped home is an excellent base, whether you’re in NYC for business or leisure. There’s even a convenient desk for those needing to work during their stay.

Your hosts have thought of everything – and we mean everything – from acupuncture to private car services and photo developing to shoe repair and shining. Whatever you need, consider it done. Bright, fresh and tastefully decorated throughout, you’ll feel at ease as soon as you step through the door. The living space has enough room for entertaining if you wish to have a couple of friends over for dinner and the sumptuously dressed king-sized bed calls for early nights and late starts. You’ve access to an on-site gym and shared roof terrace – it’s extra special when dusk falls. In your Murray Hill neighbourhood, there are countless bars and restaurants catering to all cravings. Plus, the Empire State Building and iconic Fifth Avenue are just a thirteen-minute walk away. 

Blue Orchid

You’ll find this apartment in Hell’s Kitchen, surrounded by entertainment venues, cafes, bars and restaurants – so, it’s safe to say you won’t ever be short of things to do here. The home itself is well-equipped, and while it can sleep four guests with two on the sofa bed, we think it's better suited to families who don’t mind sharing one space. The cherry on the cake for us? The outdoor space. A rarity in New York, and just the spot to unwind after a day of sightseeing. 

One Day in New York

Within walking distance of Central Park and the sights of Fifth Avenue, this brownstone townhouse couldn’t be more in the thick of it. You won’t need a car here, but if you do intend on bringing a vehicle, there are two paid public parking garages next door. Multiple communal areas make this place ideal for any group – though you’ll need to be able to manage stairs, as the home is spread across four floors. There’s ample storage and wardrobe space, which is ideal for longer stays, and the private patio is a rarity in this postcode.
