Now that's what we call a view. Whether you're relaxing on the balcony, swimming in the pool or whipping up a feast in the kitchen, you'll be able to watch the waves rolling in the sea. Although bed linen and towels are an additional cost, each bedroom is comfortable and cosy – but, as there's only space for eight around the table, we think ten guests will be a squeeze. Location-wise, Costa Paradiso is yours to discover. Li Cossi beach is less than a five-minute drive, with restaurants, bars and seasonal shops also within striking distance.

If rest and relaxation are top priorities, look no further than this villa on Sardinia’s northwest coast. The place is unfussy but well-equipped and the separate bedroom and bathroom are ideal for those who’d like their own space. Just so you know, bed linen and towels aren’t included in the price and will need to be requested at the time of booking. Outside, there are plenty of spots to unwind in the sunshine and the private pool offers knockout views of the Mediterranean Sea. Location-wise, you’re a short drive from traditional restaurants and Li Cossi Beach.

The view is everything here. This modern villa stands in Portobello di Gallura, just 800 metres from Baia dell’Amore beach, and boasts glorious views of the coast. From here you can explore the area's hidden coves and peaceful beaches on foot, and spend your evenings drinking in the spectacular sea sunsets. You’ll have a Jacuzzi to unwind in but no pool, so this home will really only appeal to those who enjoy sea swimming and the feel of sand underfoot. The twin rooms are ideal for children. Sun-seekers will love this Sardinian villa. It can be found in the village of Portobello di Gallura, just a short distance from the sandy shores of Cala Sassari. Its outside space is comprised of two large terraces with plenty of room for everyone to stretch out in the sun – and there are glorious sea views to admire. There's also a private pool. Inside the villa is crisp and modern, though you’ll have to pay for bed and bath linen (or bring your own). When you’re not at the beach, you can soak up the rays on the hiking and cycling trails of the Gallura area – it’s best to hire a car if you want to explore.

Whether you’re a family or a group of friends, this villa provides a comfortable base from which to explore Sardinia’s northwest coast. We love how the architect decided to show off the incredible landscape of La Maddalena by creating a picture frame out of every window – each one set at the exact right height to maximise the impact. There’s even a telescope in the study so you can explore the area from the comfort of your own home, or go full Rear Window and see what your neighbours are up to down in the harbour. The muted grey tones of the exterior are mirrored in the contemporary kitchen, while the dining room is framed by floor-to-ceiling windows offering the best views in the house. Outside, you’ll find a wooden deck that’s perfect for morning coffees, evening cocktails, and everything in between.

If you're staying in a home situated on the Sardinian coastline, it would be a crying shame if the address didn't have an outdoor spot from which to admire the majesty of the local landscape. Thankfully, this apartment in the north of the island really delivers on the front.

Not only is there a large sun terrace with 180-degree views of the Tyrrhenian Sea and Tavolara island, but there are two further verandahs with alfresco tables and a well-kept garden. There are pleasant views out through the home's windows too, which, thanks to the elevated position, also bring in lots of natural light. This asset works particularly well with the bright and contemporary design throughout, from the white walls and glossy kitchen surfaces to the rather striking head sculpture in the living space.

When it comes to seeing a little more of the local area, there's a rock beach only eighty metres from the home and the sandy Spiaggia Mare Rocce is two hundred metres' walk. There's a decent choice of restaurants in the surrounding town of Pittulongu, while you can find a wider choice, plus some archaeological ruins, in the city of Olbia, just over fifteen minutes' drive away.

Dating back to the times of the Roman Empire, Porto-Vecchio is as picturesque and charming as any town in the Mediterranean. This gorgeous apartment sits in a renovated 19th-century building in the heart of the Old Town and offers stunning views in every direction. Inside, cool off from the midday heat in the air-conditioned living space while enjoying the natural light and views across the town. Our favourite bit is the expansive roof terrace, the ideal place to gather for soaking up the Corsican sunshine. The well-shaded dining area has its own barbecue so you can sit down to eat alfresco at lunchtime. There’s also a relaxing chill-out area, with wicker furniture and beanbags overlooking the Mediterranean sea below. If you can tear yourself away from your home's many little luxuries, you're only a fifteen-minute walk from a sandy beach and the charming marina filled with bobbing yachts, while just outside your door, the Old Town offers up restaurants, bars and plenty of cultural attractions including the impressive Église St-Jean-Baptiste.

In the rugged south of Corsica, near Bonifacio, sits this chalet-like retreat in the hills. Wood-clad outside, it blends in with the rolling scenery, where ancient woodlands cover the hills like a deep green blanket. Grab an authentic taste of Sardinia life with a stay at this contemporary home perched along the seafront of the bustling port town of Olbia. Its central location, set close to the town’s historic centre crammed with wine bars and a restaurant-lined plaza, will come in handy as there’s no kitchen at this home. It’s also worth noting there’s no living space to speak of. But with an impressive private balcony overlooking the island of Tavolara and the Gulf of Olbia for morning coffees and evening drinks, we don’t think you’ll mind.

Keen to hit the beach? The sandy shores in San Pietro a Mare are 1.5 kilometres away – we recommend hiring a car for ease.

This seaside villa puts you within easy reach of some of the area’s most stunning beaches, including Cala Brandinchi, Lu Impostu, Cala Suaraccia, Salinedda and Salina Bamba. And, when you’re not out enjoying the Sardinian coastline, you’ve got a private pool, a lawn and outdoor seating to enjoy – perfect for soaking up the abundant sunshine. While towels, linen and wi-fi aren’t included and need to be paid for separately, the home isn’t without its charms, boasting beamed ceilings, comfortable, practical decor and a sofa bed in the living area for groups seeking more flexible sleeping arrangements.

This San Teodoro home is a short drive from the buzzing Spiaggia Lu Impostu. While the interiors are nothing special (it's function over style), the highlight of this home is the two terraces. Upstairs, the bedrooms have direct access to a balcony, offering an extension of living space with sea views – you might prefer to be outside, as there's an extra fee for the air conditioning. Meanwhile, on the ground floor, the larger patio area has a barbecue and dining area for alfresco meals. If you don't fancy cooking, there are a couple of restaurants within walking distance – if you're looking for more amenities, we recommend visiting nearby Castelsardo, named one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.
