Perfect for couples, this apartment is ideally located right at the heart of Porto. All of the city’s key attractions and top sights are within easy reach, and for those that are slightly further afield, you need only hop on the metro – Bolhão station is seven minutes away on foot. Clérigos Tower is eight minutes away on foot, and Livraria Lello – one of the most beautiful bookshops in the world – is just eleven minutes away. 

The apartment is bright and attractive, with quirky features like a glass wall separating the living space from the bedroom. If you’re anything like us, you’ll begin and end each day on the balcony. Watch the city below come to life over coffee and pastries, and round off the days with a sunset glass of wine. 


Sunrise in the City

With sweeping views over Porto’s rooftops, you can see why this fuss-free studio apartment caught our eye. It’s worth noting there’s no living space to speak of here other than the dining table for two and a small armchair. The kitchen is also pocket-sized, but the breakfast delivery service and coffee pod machine for morning brews will be handy. Location-wise, the city's iconic Bolhão Market, authentic bistros, and independent boutiques are all within walking distance. Need to be somewhere fast? The train station is just around the corner.

 Tripeiros Soul

We'll start with the location of this studio-style home. It's a short walk from Rua de Santa Catarina, with its many boutiques, so it's sure to appeal to shoppers. Plenty of restaurants are nearby, too, which is convenient as this home's compact kitchen has no oven. It does have a microwave, though, so it's okay for cooking light meals. Thanks to two large windows, the apartment is light and bright. We should mention that these open onto the street, so be prepared to say hello to passers-by.

Porto Rose

Bright and welcoming, this apartment is a comfy home-from-home in the heart of Porto. Walk up the stairs to this first-floor pad and be greeted by an open space with plenty of amenities. While the kitchen lacks an oven, it's well-equipped for preparing light bites. There's also a sofa bed for those travelling in small groups. But the real standout is the private balcony, providing a calm spot to start your day before heading out for work or sightseeing trips. Location-wise, you're a short stroll from Santa Catarina shopping street with the city's top attractions nearby. Plus, the Duque Loulé tram stop is a two-minute walk away.

Portuguese Palette

Located in Praça dos Poveiros, this bright apartment puts you in a prime position to explore Porto’s most historic and cultural sights, all while enjoying a wonderfully comfortable stay. 
 
Stepping into the beautifully sunny open-plan living area, you’ll immediately be struck by the elegant corniced ceilings, hardwood floors and dazzling amount of natural light pouring in through the paned, arched French doors. Open these up to let the breeze drift through the space while you enjoy breakfast at the dining table, or perch by their Juliet balconies with a glass of Portuguese wine. 
 
The two bedrooms boast equally beautiful French doors that give way to views over the nearby Jardim Marques de Oliveira (a one-minute walk away), as well as inviting beds that wait to drift you into a peaceful night’s slumber. 
 
And when it comes to sightseeing, you’ve got plenty from which to choose within easy walking distance – the Igreja de Santo Ildefonso is a three-minute walk, Porto Cathedral is a ten-minute stroll and bustling, waterfront Cais da Ribeira is fifteen minutes away on foot. 


The Glass Park

Comfortable and convenient, this apartment lies in the centre of Porto, near many of the city's top tourist attractions. From here, you can stroll down to the Douro River for a boat cruise, discover hidden wine bars in the Ribeira district, or tick off the major sights with a light walk to Sé do Porto. Inside, the home is modern and well-equipped for short stays. While the kitchen isn't the biggest, it offers everything needed for home-cooked meals. The enclosed terrace and additional smaller balcony are an added bonus too. There's also a double sofa bed for small groups – although we'd recommend a maximum of two guests. 

Porto Poes

Stylishly minimalist and beautifully bright, this apartment in Porto’s Bolhão neighbourhood is the perfect base for those looking to be within easy walking distance of the city’s most historic sights, all while enjoying a comfortable stay. 
 
From its glossy wood floors to its cool exposed stone walls, there’s a feeling of traditional charm here combined with modern comforts and contemporary decor. Make yourself comfortable on the sofa with a glass of Portuguese wine, or better yet, open up the French doors to perch by the Juliet balconies while indulging in some people-watching along your scenic street. The window-side table beckons sociable breakfasts over fresh coffee and pastéis de nata, as well intimate dinners made with fresh produce from the Mercado do Bolhão, a three-minute walk away. 
 
Factor in the two comfortable bedrooms and the pair of sleek bathrooms boasting rainfall showers and you’ve got everything you need for a relaxing, carefree stay. 
 
When it comes to sightseeing nearby, you’ve got plenty from which to choose, including the blue and white tiled Chapel of Souls (a four-minute walk), the ornate Livraria Lello bookshop (a thirteen-minute walk), Porto Cathedral (a fourteen-minute walk) and bustling Cais da Ribeira (a twenty-minute walk). 


Sun Stones

Sitting on the top floor of a building in downtown Porto, this apartment is ideal for anybody looking for somewhere special to stay in the city. The show-stopping feature has to be the home's terrace, which has plenty of seating and peaceful rooftop views.

However, step into the apartment through the large glass door and you'll find a stylish interior as well. White walls and wooden floors are a classy combination, while the mid-century furnishings and floating staircase are sure to draw a few compliments. Add to this a large mezzanine bedroom with another balcony and you're sure to fall head over heels for this address.

When you're ready to head and explore, you'll find plenty of cafes and restaurants in the surrounding neighbourhood, as well as the blue-tiled Chapel of the Souls four minutes' walk away. The centre of the city isn't too far away, either — you can be outside Porto Cathedral in just over a quarter of an hour on foot.



Downtown Girl

This attractive apartment is an ideal base for a refined visit to Porto. It’s just 300 metres from São Bento metro station, and a ten-minute walk to Trindade station, so getting around is easy as can be. And when you’re not out seeing the sights, there’s plenty to make you happy at your home-from-home. We love the terrace, where you can soak up the sun, stretched out on a lounger. The decor inside is simple but pretty, and you’ll have all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. 

Porto Portrait

Set in the heart of Porto, this apartment provides easy access to the historical marvels dotting the city – and when you want to travel further afield, the closest metro is a mere ten-minute walk. So, while this fuss-free home may not be filled with luxurious finishes, it’s all about the location for us. It’s a comfortable space for four people, just bear in mind that the second bedroom is an interior room, so lacks natural light. That said, we think this makes it a perfect spot for a restful, undisturbed sleep.

Porto's Heritage Heart

A private suntrap terrace seals the deal at this pocket-sized apartment set in the azulejos-clad streets of the oh-so-central Bolhão district. While the views aren't overly inspiring, it's a bonus to have some outdoor space – especially as the inside of this home is compact and quirky in places. Expect a sofa bed in the lounge for the last guest and a bedroom with only an internal window. It may also take some getting used to having the exclusive-use lift open directly into the home's hallway. But for such an unbeatable location, we'll happily let that slide.

Blissful Aura

This compact yet well-considered apartment in the heart of Porto is an ideal place to relax and recharge after a day of sightseeing. Inside, neutral tones combine to create a feeling of calm. Make yourself at home with an espresso on the comfy sofa before tucking into a tasty pastry on your private balcony.

When you’re ready to head out, begin with a trip to São Bento Station, famous for its blue-and-white tiles depicting scenes of Portuguese history – it’s only 300 metres away. Pick up a new coffee table book in the emblematic Livraria Lello then enjoy views of the Dom Luís Bridge from a cafe on the bustling Cais da Ribeira. If all that exploring has worked up an appetite, treat yourself to a francesinha (Portugal’s answer to the croque-monsieur) in a nearby eatery.
