Every care has been taken to preserve this home in its original 1950s glamour, when its owner ran the famed Chi Chi Lounge, frequented by celebrity clientele who’d pop over to his house for Sunday brunch. Boasting stylish interiors inspired by calm desert tones, this is the superlative setting for a relaxing getaway with friends or family. As much as we love this home’s inside space, it’s the exterior here that really captured our imaginations. Fully equipped with a private swimming pool, firepit, and smoky barbecue, it’s the perfect place to while away gorgeous days under the hot California sun. Big bedrooms mostly open directly to the outside space and the bathrooms have a nostalgic feel too.

Just a seven-minute drive from downtown and a four-minute stroll from the home now known as the Elvis Honeymoon Hideaway (with daily tours),it's also close to hiking trails and convenient for the airport.

After a hard day’s sightseeing, come back to your personal oasis for a refreshing dip in the pool, followed by cocktails as the sun dips behind the mountains. Here you'll be able to hike to incredible viewpoints before heading back down to stock up the energy levels with tasty cuisine. The traditional french food of Farm is highly commended here, and it's only a four-minute drive from the house. You could spend your days on one of the many famed golf courses in Palm Springs, but we guarantee you'll be spending most of your time in this home's garden. Whether you're splashing around in the swimming pool gauping at views of the mountains, practicing your swing on the private putting green, or sitting around the fire pit telling stories long into the night, it will be hard to tear yourself away from this wonderful space.

If the interiors of this minimalist home appear to have jumped straight out of the pages of a glossy magazine, you’re not far off. This home, designed by Palmer and Kriesel is hidden away in a Palm Springs cul-de-sac and has previously graced the pages of the New York Times. Homage to all things mid-century, with Eames chairs, Nelson lamps and a vintage Malm fireplace in the master bedroom.

We were wowed by the open living area, designed with socialising in mind and with great views of the backyard. Out in the garden, reclining by the shimmering turquoise pool is the perfect way to unwind, but if you need to take your relaxing to the next level, there’s also a hot tub to bubble the night away in. Dine alfresco under the endless desert sky, then end the evening around the flickering fire pit with a glass of something strong as the sun sets behind the mountains.

When you want to venture out, downtown Palm Springs is only a five-minute drive away, and Joshua Tree National Park, roughly an hour away, is a must-see for hikers and nature enthusiasts. Visit The Palm Springs Art Museum, an eight-minute drive away which features complex sculptures, glassworks, and photographs by renowned artists such as Andy Warhol and Diane Arbus.
