Look out over a planted perimeter of split palms, olive trees, and desert succulents (for utmost privacy) to be greeted by stunning mountain views dominated by the almost 11,000ft of Mount San Jacinto. If you'd like to experience the view from the other side, you're a ten-minute drive from Palm Springs aerial tramway, which will have you part-way to the peak in no time. 

Back at home, you're spoiled for choice when it comes to seating. Indoors or alfresco, upright or flat-out, business formal or slouchy casual? There's an almost infinite combination of seating styles and areas to relax with a book/movie/podcast. 

Three of the five bedrooms boast direct access to the soothing spa patio, and all of them are blessed with luxurious linens and full en-suite bathrooms. Inside, the open layout makes it perfect for hosting a family get-together. Built in 1960, it's been restored but has kept all its character. If the interiors of this minimalist home appear to have jumped straight out of the pages of a glossy magazine, you’re not far off. This home, designed by Palmer and Kriesel is hidden away in a Palm Springs cul-de-sac and has previously graced the pages of the New York Times. Homage to all things mid-century, with Eames chairs, Nelson lamps and a vintage Malm fireplace in the master bedroom.

We were wowed by the open living area, designed with socialising in mind and with great views of the backyard. Out in the garden, reclining by the shimmering turquoise pool is the perfect way to unwind, but if you need to take your relaxing to the next level, there’s also a hot tub to bubble the night away in. Dine alfresco under the endless desert sky, then end the evening around the flickering fire pit with a glass of something strong as the sun sets behind the mountains.

When you want to venture out, downtown Palm Springs is only a five-minute drive away, and Joshua Tree National Park, roughly an hour away, is a must-see for hikers and nature enthusiasts. Visit The Palm Springs Art Museum, an eight-minute drive away which features complex sculptures, glassworks, and photographs by renowned artists such as Andy Warhol and Diane Arbus.


Splash & Chill

In one of Palm Springs' most distinctive neighbourhoods, where Elvis and Priscilla honeymooned in 1967, this slice of mid-century architecture has all the hallmarks of the area's defining style. Maintained in almost original condition, there's a comfy lounge area with a fireplace, a large bar and dining table, with a kitchen tucked around the corner. Big bedrooms mostly open directly to the outside space and the bathrooms have a nostalgic feel too.

Just a seven-minute drive from downtown and a four-minute stroll from the home now known as the Elvis Honeymoon Hideaway (with daily tours),it's also close to hiking trails and convenient for the airport.

Rock 'n' Roll Salamander

The Spanish hacienda-style home dates back to the 1950s, but it’s received a modern update with a healthy dose of mid-century modern furniture (you are after all in Palm Springs). The backyard is, without a doubt, the heart of the home. We loved the pool with jaw-dropping mountain views, and the fire pit that sets the scene for many nights spent stargazing in great company.

Wake up feeling energised and embark on challenging early morning hikes within a mile of your home, returning in time for brunch in one of the innovative farm-to-fork restaurants that you'll find tucked away in Downtown, a five-minute drive north.
