Set on the beachfront of Mission Bay – enjoy sweeping views across the beach and out to the ocean waves lapping into the shore. Relax amidst the gently swaying palm trees as the ocean's breeze refreshes your mind and rejuvenates the soul. While relaxing is a given when it would be rude not to make the most of the conveniences and amenities of San Diego when staying here. 

From biking along the boardwalk to boating, paddleboarding, sailing and swimming – it's safe to say you won't be short of things to do in this neck of the woods. With Mission Bay Aquatic Center located just steps away, and breakfast spots, coffee houses, pubs and restaurants all within close walking distance – you needn't lift so much as a finger when it comes to meal times. However, it's nice to have the option of cooking at the villa, should you wish to rustle up your own recipes too. 

Spread across three levels, watch the sailboats glide across the bay from anywhere in the home – whether that's from the top-floor balcony or down on the ground-level patio with lounge seating. Grab a drink and station yourself ready to watch the sunset over the bayfront. Bliss. We couldn't think of a dreamier way to start and end your days here than with a leisurely stroll along the bayside boardwalks. Or better still, make footprints in the sand as you listen to the waves crash before you on the beach itself. 





Non Stop Waves 

You won’t get much closer to the beach than this San Diego villa, nudged up to the golden sands of South Mission. With panoramic sea views, you’re in a prime position for watching the sunset over the North Pacific Ocean from the beachfront terrace or balcony. Located close to the seafront boardwalk, with volleyball courts, a playground, and calm waters nearby, it’s a great choice for families. It’s worth noting that this villa is only available with five bedrooms and four bathrooms during the summer – at other times it’s rented as a four-bedroom, three-bathroom home that sleeps ten.

Rock Bottom

Perched within walking distance of South Mission Beach, this beautiful beach house is a coastal bolthole the whole family will fall in love with. Set over two levels, this place welcomes you to soak up the San Diego sun in style. 
If al fresco dining is your thing, then you’re in luck. With a ton of outdoor dining and lounge space to both the front and back of the home, this place is perfect for those that love being out in the open air. Float the day away with an iced Americano in hand and get set to kick back in style.
We’re sure the Californian sun will tempt you outside, but if a cosy evening is calling your name, the soothing coastal decor and sumptuous leather sofas serve the ideal spot for family movie nights. 
In need of some ‘me–time’? The balcony deck nestled between the two bedrooms on the first floor was made for quiet moments spent watching the world go by, or with your head buried deep in the pages of a good book. 
For a full day of fun, games and brightly–lit arcades, make a beeline for Belmont Park, just a ten–minute walk away. Alternatively, if you feel like showing off your sporty side, head to the seafront courts for a game of beach volleyball.


Iced Americano

Picture-perfect from start to finish, this beach cottage is just a few steps away from the sandy shore of La Jolla Cove. The living room is decorated with wicker furniture and nautical touches, with four skylights making it a perfect spot to relax in a sunbeam and watch the sea swell from your window. The bedroom is equally relaxing, with a comfortable bed and a flat screen TV for lazy evenings; your only trouble will be deciding which beach to visit and which La Jolla Village restaurant to try next. This home is best suited for two people, but if you wanted to bring some friends or children, the sofa bed in the living area offers two additional sleep options.

Cabin Fever

Sun worshippers and surf enthusiasts will love the location of this one. Just moments from Law Street Beach, you can watch the waves crashing from your home – that's how close to the ocean you'll be. There are three large and comfortable bedrooms, and one bunk room, making this an ideal spot for a family or a group of friends with children. Plus, the open-plan setup makes it a great space for socialising, playing games or simply lounging together. Outside there's a dining area, gas barbecue and fire pit, and it's just a few steps away from the little grassy park on the bluff, overlooking the beach. The sunset from here is incredible.

Surfside

Known for its pristine beaches and optimal climate, San Diego is already a gem on the west coast of America. The fact that this beach cottage can also be found in the Mission Bay area makes the trip out to San Diego even more of a must. Ideal for a family stay or reunion of friends, think of this home as a portal to all things spectacular. The beach, for one, is a quick walk away, and so are a number of great restaurants and markets. Belmont Park is ready to keep you company for hours, but we especially recommend seeing it at night when all the lights make it feel extra magical. 

Spending time at home will likely result in burgers grilling on the barbecue outside – stay out there for long after, even as the sun begins to dip, to bask in the holiday feeling. The fireplace is great for colder nights where you can enjoy takeout around the fire before playing a round of Monopoly. Hit the boardwalk on balmier evenings and if you happen to end up with a taco in one hand and a frozen margarita in the other, well, we call that a good night.


Little Blue in San Diego

If you're partial to dazzling coastal views, this home in Mission Beach will leave your jaw on the floor. It sits between the bay and the ocean, boasting proximity to soft white sands and gentle basin waters in just three minutes on foot. From here, you're also within easy reach of the peninsula's shop-lined artery, Mission Boulevard, brimming with hip cafés and delectable eateries for those post-surf nibbles.

This home impresses from the outset with its multi-tiered concrete facade. The chic, free-flowing interior exudes calm, cloaked in rich, earthy tones and bursts of colour. Large windows usher in floods of sunlight, and we love the open-plan living space, primed for entertaining with plush upholstery, a spacious breakfast bar and a fully-equipped kitchen. Though, the real highlight is the outdoor space. Positioned across three levels, a balcony, barbecue patio, and furnished sundeck offer sweeping views of the bay and the Pacific Ocean's endless blue. After a day of adventure, rustle up an alfresco feast on the grill or enjoy a glass of wine on the rooftop patio as the sun dips below the horizon. 

Glimpse of Paradise

If proximity to the beach is your priority, this cute and cosy beach cottage is ideal. The decor is simple but stylish and the full (but compact) kitchen is perfect for whipping up a quick breakfast before heading out for the day. You’re just a few blocks from the sea, so you can head for a walk along the cliffs or spend the day on the beach. When you return home, wash off the sand using the outdoor shower and then settle down by the fire pit in the garden to toast marshmallows for your hot chocolate, while you plan tomorrow’s adventures. 


Sand Strolls

Location wise, you’d be hard–pushed to find anywhere better than this place. Set within close distance to tons of San Diego’s best–loved tourist attractions, better yet, this home is just steps away from the oceanfront. So, if sandy strolls along the beach are calling your name, this second–floor condo is exactly where you need to be. 
With large glass doors that lead out onto the private balcony, you could easily float the day away just watching the rolling tide. Grab an iced coffee and retreat to the cushioned rattan chairs and kick back in style. This is the ideal spot to enjoy some open–air dining, too. With a table and chairs ready to use, here you can indulge in some of the West Coast’s best–loved bites with a sensational view of the coastline beyond. We’re talking tacos, burgers, burritos – the full shebang. It’s time to tuck in.
Inside, it’s warm and welcoming with some lavish finishing touches. Granite countertops bring an element of grandeur, as do the travertine floors, meanwhile the plush leather furnishings promise to keep you comfy whatever the day has in store. 
If you’re travelling as a group, be sure to make a beeline for the master bedroom when you arrive – with views like this, if you’re not quick enough, someone else will soon beat you to it!


Rockaway the Seashells

With breathtaking views of Coronado and San Diego harbour, this charming 1920s California-style bungalow sits atop a west-facing hillside in an affluent part of town. Climb the stairs from street level and step into the main open-plan living area and kitchen. Here, you'll find a space blessed with high ceilings and a wall of glass with breathtaking views that leads directly onto a vast twenty-six-foot balcony running the length of the house. Pour yourself a welcome glass of Prosecco from the fridge and relax as you gaze out at the ocean and the planes coming in to land at the airport. Whether you're in town for work or play, location is key, and you couldn't be better placed here – just minutes from San Diego International Airport, Little Italy, Downtown Gaslamp, and the area's beaches. That said, there are plenty of wonderful cafes and historic neighbourhoods within walking distance, so you don't have to rely on four wheels all the time. And even when you're looking to travel further afield, it's a short stroll to the trolley stop, which can whisk you to the Gaslamp Quarter. Alternatively, take the COASTER train north to chic beach towns like Solana Beach, Encinitas and Carlsbad. At the end of a packed day, head through to the soothing bedrooms, which are decorated in neutral tones that contrast nicely with the dark wooden furnishings, while the comfortable beds make getting up in the morning a struggle.
