You can kick back and relax on the comfy sofa, then cook up your favourite dishes in the smart kitchen to refuel after a busy day. Or, head out to the patio and fire up the barbeque for some burgers in the sunshine. With views across to the water, this outdoor space is ideal for soaking up the warm Californian sun. 

Sail Bay is just a few metres away, while Mission Beach's long sandy shoreline is only a five-minute walk from your front door. Fans of water sports are spoilt for choice, with the option to try out paddle boarding, surfing, kayaking, and much more at one of the local centres. And, for those that prefer to stay on dry land, Belmont Park is just a fifteen-minute walk away, while the historic Gaslamp Quarter is a fifteen-minute car ride.

If proximity to the beach is your priority, this cute and cosy beach cottage is ideal. The decor is simple but stylish and the full (but compact) kitchen is perfect for whipping up a quick breakfast before heading out for the day. You’re just a few blocks from the sea, so you can head for a walk along the cliffs or spend the day on the beach. When you return home, wash off the sand using the outdoor shower and then settle down by the fire pit in the garden to toast marshmallows for your hot chocolate, while you plan tomorrow’s adventures.

With Mission Bay Aquatic Center located just steps away, and breakfast spots, coffee houses, pubs and restaurants all within close walking distance – you needn't lift so much as a finger when it comes to meal times. However, it's nice to have the option of cooking at the villa, should you wish to rustle up your own recipes too. 

Spread across three levels, watch the sailboats glide across the bay from anywhere in the home – whether that's from the top-floor balcony or down on the ground-level patio with lounge seating. Grab a drink and station yourself ready to watch the sunset over the bayfront. Bliss. We couldn't think of a dreamier way to start and end your days here than with a leisurely stroll along the bayside boardwalks. Or better still, make footprints in the sand as you listen to the waves crash before you on the beach itself.

The San Diego coastline, with the beauty of Sunset Cliffs and Ocean Beach, is only a fifteen-minute walk away. After a day frolicking in the surf or basking in the perfect Californian climate, come together to watch the sunset from the roof – drink in hand. You'll want to eat alfresco every day, but have a break from cooking and walk to one of Mission Beach's restaurants - popular with visitors and locals alike. Chill out in the fully air-conditioned home, and drink fresh juice in the mornings as you slowly wake up at the breakfast bar. The living room comes with a fireplace and custom flat-screen TV, so you can stream your favourite shows or just put your feet up and relax by the crackling fire.

With the soft, powdery sand of the beach literally on your doorstep, we doubt you'll want to go far. But if you do, you'll find an array of shops, restaurants and bars just a stone's throw away.

This home is all about outdoor living, from the front yard with its private barbecue pit to the serene back courtyard’s fire pit and second barbecue station. Inside is designed with detail in mind. Create in the cook’s kitchen, entertain in the open-plan living space and find solitude in the comfortable bedrooms. The master bedroom impresses with vaulted ceilings, a central feature fireplace and en-suite. You’re just two blocks from the beach; take the supplied bikes and cruise around the relaxed neighbourhood of Ocean Beach and over to the cliffs for some stunning views. Try some surf lessons, visit the farmer's market, and pop to the cafe next door for delicious acai bowls and sandwiches.
