This riverfront home is the kind of getaway we dream of every day. The infinity pool and views of the Hudson River are magnificent – just imagine how calming it is to wake up to views of this calibre every day. Inside, it feels incredibly warm and welcoming, making it perfect for family gatherings and spending time with your loved ones. The screened porch was extremely inviting, it’s the kind of place that inspires you to slow down. While there’s a lot to love about this home, we couldn’t get enough of the garden – manicured and green, it also boasts an infinity pool.

Jewel on the Hudson

Look out for artists, poets and musicians in the area around this home – it’s located in Springs, arguably the coolest town in the Hamptons. In the past, it’s played host to visionaries like Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner, Willem de Kooning, Kurt Vonnegut, Nora Ephron and John Steinbeck. Luckily, the home’s bright, colourful design lives up to its surroundings, with patterned throws and bedspreads, quirky artwork and unique furniture. There are 1.5 acres of land to explore, with plenty of options for dining outside, whether you choose to relax with a barbecue under the wisteria or socialise on the patio. There’s also a separate barn in the garden, which can hold a further three people. On hot summer days, go for a swim in the pool, or lie back with a book on a sun lounger nearby. As if this weren’t enough, it’s also perfectly located for making the most of Springs, with the sea just a five-minute cycle away, and coastal walks and surf beaches within easy reach. On Saturdays, amble over to the Farmer’s Market to purchase fresh produce to whip up a feast.

Sunflowers & Wisteria

Wander Inn is an architect-renovated ranch in a beautiful setting. Built in the sixties, this home is made for relaxation and indulgence. The minimalist furniture has been carefully selected, merging with stone and wooden surfaces and creating a pleasant atmosphere. The ceilings are tall, the bedrooms are quiet, and there's lots of natural light, making the transition between indoors and outdoors seamless. A typical day in this home consists of lazy walks around the area, hanging out in the hammock, and curling up with a good book on the plush sofas. When you're ready to venture farther out, the beach is only a few steps away, so you can return home for a hearty lunch after a morning swimming and tanning session. There's lots to do in the area, from wine tastings to great independent restaurants, making it a great option for a foodie family.

Wander Inn

This colourful Hamptons home has a laid back, friendly feel that would be perfect for a group of friends or family. In a quiet part of the Northwest Woods area of East Hampton, the house is surrounded by trees which guarantees peace, quiet and privacy to enjoy your trip. We love the playful features of this home, such as the sheep and cow skin rugs, Phillips Hue colour changing lights and floating staircase. The large deck provides plenty of room to stretch out on a sun lounger and top up your tan, before diving into the swimming pool or under the outdoor shower to cool off. When you want to feel the sand between your toes, Sammy's beach is just a stroll away, and it is a short car ride to the iconic Ocean Beaches. You'll also find the quaint villages of Amagansset and Sag Harbor just a ten minute drive away. 

Technicolour Dreamland

Pack your bags and gather your favourite friends or family members, it's high time for a trip to the Hamptons. Just A Minute is a comfortable and modern home with easy access to Southhampton, where you can find everything you need from retail therapy to white sandy beaches. The home has a lived-in, comfortable feel, meaning you can settle right in without having to worry about a thing. The kitchen is fully equipped and the saltwater pool is ready for you to dive into. There's a fabulous social space at the heart of the home, with a cosy corner sofa, fireplace and bold artworks on the wall, and sets of sliding doors open it and the dining area out to the large deck – perfect for evening drinks in warm weather. Whether you want to spend the entirety of your trip at the house or explore the beautiful surrounding area, there is plenty to do on this small strip of Long Island. 

Just A Minute

A luxurious harbour-front villa overlooking the serene Noyack Bay, this home's stylish interior boasts elegance and sophistication. Huge, panoramic windows display the beautiful surroundings while flooding the space with light. An exquisite kitchen seamlessly blends the modern fixtures and fittings with a rustic style, pairing sleek marble-top counters with traditional brick and log walls. The large bedrooms have plush beds and window-walls, creating rejuvenating spaces, only furthered by the luxurious en-suite bathrooms featuring ocean-tiled walk-in showers. There is a serene, heated outdoor pool surrounded by lazing lounge areas, perfect for soaking up the summer’s sun. Located at the harbour's edge, the villa is moments away from delicious restaurants and quaint shops to explore. On more exciting days, you can take a short walk to the Northampton Colony Yacht Club for a day of sailing. 

Seascape

This NYT-featured Catskills home is not quite the cabin it seems to be. What looks like a single storey home from one angle is actually built over a creekside slope, and we think it's one of the most interesting places we've seen for a peaceful stay in the woods. Floor-to-ceiling windows make full use of the region’s scenery, and sliding doors out onto a deck mean you can practically reach out and touch the pines – you can even listen to the rushing waters of the creek from here. Modern and stylish, the design here isn't trying to outshine the views, with wood floors, white walls and a Scandi feel to its furnishings. Two of the bedrooms are on the top floor and have such great views across the canopy you'll think you're staying in a treehouse, while immaculate bathrooms are outfitted with marble, lava stone and Italian Porcelanosa tiles. If you can drag yourself away, head out on hikes, explore the nearby farm shops, or book a meal at a local restaurant – there are several within a short drive. But we recommend making your way to the home's little campfire site, with some hot chocolate and marshmallows, for an evening you'll never forget.

The Edge

Arriving at this effortlessly chic seaside home from the city is a shockingly swift affair – you can be in Manhattan for breakfast and Sag Harbour for lunch. With its white-washed interiors and beachy accents, the home is ideal for a family of weekenders or those looking for a long-term change of scenery. Our favourite touches include the rustic dining table, the gorgeously manicured yard, the exercise bike and the twinkling pool, perfect for hot summer days. The hydrangea-lined patio with its Adirondack chairs is perfect for lounging with a drink while someone grills up dinner. One of the seriously special aspects of this home is its fabulous location within walking distance of Sag Harbour’s Main Street, with its restaurants, boutiques, and art galleries all a stone’s throw away. Sag Harbour is one of New York State’s best kept secrets and the family-friendly bohemian alternative to other nearby towns. Tucked away on a private road, you’re guaranteed a peaceful escape here. 


Whale Watching

You don't even need to step out of this home to take in the view of Sam’s Creek and Mecox Bay, with the sea stretching out in the distance. At this cottage by the water, built up on stilts, you’ll be able to watch it all from the comfort of home. But why would you when you can step out onto the deck, wander down to your private dock or walk to the beach in just minutes. Inside, the home has more than a touch of Bauhaus about it. Designed by the late Peter Blake, it's mainly monochrome interior contrasts against the greenery framed by floor-to-ceiling windows. It's a peaceful spot, with an open layout and an air of calm – especially in the bedrooms. Its raised position makes it a unique place to stay, and allows it to really make the most of its surroundings. Spend time lazing on hammocks under the cherry tree or take to the water on the home's canoe. 

Swan's Nest

Not too far from the bright lights of New York City, this striking and stylish home sits near the beaches of Westhampton and among the protected marshlands of Long Island. The house itself is a modern twist on the traditional clapboard homes the area is famous for, with wraparound decks looking into the treetops to the rear and plenty of sliding doors allowing the indoors to seamlessly slip into the outdoor space. Downstairs, the living space is all about its designer leather sofa and chairs, as well as a large glass dining table. There's an excellent kitchen, with everything you'll need to cook at home, and even a den upstairs, complete with a sofa and office desk for working remotely. Outdoors, the huge deck is the star of the show, with seating areas, an alfresco dining spot, a cabana and a swimming pool. It's just a ten-minute drive to Westhampton beach to paddle in the Atlantic Ocean or visit one of the many excellent bars or restaurants.

Long Island Iced Tea

Make like a New Yorker and escape to the famous Hamptons. This home has everything you could need for an effortless, laidback break from the city. Relax on the pretty porch with drinks, spend hours reading and lounging in the sun, or head to the hot tub by the woods. This East Hampton idyll is a stone's throw away from the gorgeous Sag Harbour, and the heated pool is nestled against the lush green acres of Cedar Point Park. This home has great lofty windows, a beautifully modern and chic kitchen and dining space, and the comfy lounge comes with a projector for film nights to remember. Unwind in this spot and feel the weeks of summer race by a little slower.
